Are you secretly hoping for a blowout?

The interesting aspect of this question is that it would take a beat down to get RR fired.  It means that we are conditioned to accept the fact that mediocre is enough for RR to keep his job, as it has been in the past.  3 winning seasons in 9--remember that.

The RR excuse:  The team is 5-5 with a backup QB.  That's pretty good, eh boss?

Tepper, however, mentioned--in public to the media--long term mediocrity, when the team was 5-5.  The defense, by the way, the unit that RR runs for the most part, is not playing well.  They have 8 former first rounders on that side of the ball.  On that side of the ball, there is no backup QB.

So the backup QB excuse is lame--here is why.  The failure to develop an offensive line (and this could be where Marty comes into the equation) perhaps ended Cam's career here.  The weak OL is making it tough for anyone--including Allen--to succeed. If we had an OL, Cam would still be under center and the results would be different.   But when you put your eggs in the defensive basket and still suck, you can't blame the QB.

OMFG

So.

freaking.

much.

this.

@Jeremy Igo Not always, but sometimes, I need a button that equates to eleventy bajillion pie.

Please make it happen sir.

No I am not secretly hoping for a blowout. A win against the saints keeps things interesting and fun. And as others have metioned, adds morale.

Also tanking by players and coaches isn't a thing in the NFL. All are fighting for jobs and want to win. Tanking is done by the front office like the Dolphins are attempting. And there isn't a huge disparity in the first 15 picks.

I don’t think I could actually root for the Panthers to get blown out. It’s sickening to wait all year for football and then see this as the result of it.

if I turn off football, not even care and be pragmatic, then yes it would be good to clean house.

Anyone think Mike McCarthy would be the coaching pick? Does Tepper go with some young unknown or does he go get someone like that?

Shoot. I’m the definition of Cam-wagon fan, and really don’t care if we win another game. But I sure don’t want to see another game even worse than SF/ATL. That’s not good for anyone.

And Rivera shouldn’t be target #1 in any scenario like this.

Ron Rivera is the single reason this team is nothing more than mediocre. He makes John fox look like bill belichick. I hope this team loses 407-0 every single game for the rest of the season. Ron needs to go for the better good of this franchise. It would be absolutely irresponsible to bring him back.
