Of course they didn't read the article. These guys aren't looking for what's actually causing line problems, what they're looking for is a reason to neg Hurney for his free agency moves. The same guys that have poo on Paradis are doing it more for what I would refer to as sports politics than anything else.

Take the Green Bay game...

"OMG, LOOK AT THAT!" "IT'S LIKE HE'S WEARNIG SKATES, LOL WHAT A TRASH SIGNING"

Literally ignoring that the frozen ground, and the snow accumulating on the field... what do you think is going to happen with a center put on island? He's going to slide backwards. Silly.

There was a play that people were piling on in that game for that actually was the result of poor footing due to snow. He still hasn't been great in pass pro, though i can understand if that's a coaching issue. They did, after all, expect D Williams to be able to handle a difficult position change coming off a major injury so i can definitely accept they want him to be superhuman.

Still, flashbacks of poor FA signings prior to him are fair, too. They happened

Watching that film, the thing that stood out to me is how worthless Trai Turner has been. I don't know how many times I saw him just looking around, neither aiding Paradis or the tackle. He just looked like it was all swirling past him and he didn't know who to hit.

We are asking a lot of Paradis, who has gotten quite a bit of criticism from me I'll admit, so maybe he does deserve a bit of a break. And our tackles, especially to the left, have been a revolving roster of rookies and a re-tread.

I guess PFF hates Hurney as well. Who knew?

Do I really need to list the many former offensive lineman of the league that have called PFF out for not having a damn clue what the assignments were, and thus not grading offensive lineman in anyway fairly?

Though you already know this, unless you've been deaf to even our own former players opinions.

Yet the same people, using the same system of grading, had him as a top 5 canter when healthy.

What’s not hard to see is him getting pushed around in every situation. He can’t maintain leverage. Whether that is lingering injury or the fact he couldn’t train all off-season, that is the main issue. Not coaching. Not scheme. He’s getting abused. Why exactly is this such a problem? It’s not a secret.

I'm not as down on the OL as the rest of you.  Injuries have once again wrecked any chance of forming a cohesive unit.  It took, what, 2 games till we were down to our 3rd string LT.  How many years has this been the case?

Injuries to Moton and Turner have hurt more than anyone talks about.  Roten has been praised for his pulling abilities, but is that enough?

If this line (and I mean Daryl as a backup LT only) had stayed healthy for a stretch of 4 or 5 games early in the season, I think it would have been a lot better.  It's just that as soon as one guy gets back, down goes another and that kills continuity, which is essential on the O Line.

A healthy Daly/Little at LT, Van Roten at LG, Paradis, Turner and Moton is a pretty good, young lineup.  They just need to get healthy and learn to work together.

However, QB problems and young WRs have exacerbated the problem.  Is Daly really a steal or was he benefitting from Kyle getting the ball out of the pocket faster?

I think the tools are there.  I do want to draft an interior OL in case Paradis isn't up to form, and Turner isn't the same as he used to be, and at least to give Van Roten competition.

But that said, as a lifelong Panthers fan, I will never, ever, be angry at an OL draft pick in any round.

The O-line has certainly done enough for us to win games. I've said it continually throughout the season. The O-line and the defense.

The biggest problem I have with people grading players in general is they always think it's an all-or-nothing thing.

"I saw him make mistakes on three snaps. He's terrible!"

"Look at this great highlight-reel play. He's obviously a superstar!"

Yeah, it's not that simple either way.

Good players make bad plays. Bad players make good plays. You can cherry-pick a highlight-reel to prove either point if you want to. That's what a lot of the dumbass Twitter analysts do.

For me, the most reliable standard is do they do more good or more bad.

As far as Paradis, yeah he does some good things. Not enough for my liking though. It's pretty obvious he's not the same guy he was before the injury.

Can he heal up? Don't know. After listening to Matt Kalil say "Okay, this time I'm finally really healthy" several times, I'm kind of skeptical.

I’ve been saying for a couple years now. Trai Turner is just cashing  checks.  If u pay close attention to him  he’s been terrible. I’d rather see DW at RG at this point.

Turners out of shape and fat literally stands around never blocking anyone.

Wait.  You trust PFF?

Where has this writer played? Coached? Anything? Why should I listen to some guy breakdown a couple plays?

I don’t think he’s injured. But it would be a lot better than the alternative. That’ he’s awful.

Do you know exactly how much Paradis is “injured”?. It’s been the assumption that he’s still hurt and that’s why he sux. Unless you have his medical report, no one knows.

Your answer is some guy who has never put on a helmet is saying it’s the coaches fault that he went from a top 10 center to the worst in the league.

You mean watching again what I’ve seen a judge it through someone’s eyes that I have no knowledge or respect for. Sorry if this is your main source of knowledge I don’t take the ramblings of non-players/coaches too seriously.

You seem intent on blaming anyone but Paradis for sucking. Sorry, there aren’t enough excuses for that.

So you only like what random people you have no knowledge of and are online say about players/coaches, many that haven't played/coached, if it agrees with you.

Does PFF use only 1% of a players snaps to come up with their grades. No. They grade every snap. And under their system, Paradis was great. Same system and he sux. So did their suddenly have a vendetta against Paradis. So I use it for what it is. A tool. Not a verdict. But it’s a helluva lot better that a guy who writes an article of excuses on a player from his favorite teAm so uninformed fans can have hope.

Do what you have to do to make yourself feel better about getting your information. What’s the endgame here? That Paradis hasn’t been awful? Because that is just Laughable.
