I am not sure I would go that far, and it has nothing to do with Paradis.  If we continue to use him in the wrong situations, then he was a bad signing.  Paradis was signed as a pass blocker who had known weaknesses that haven't changed.  Apparently we go out of our way to put Paradis in a situation to let his weaknesses shine while never adapting.

Not adapting to a pass rush.  That sounds familiar.

 Just like Daryl Williams. Everyone thought it was a steal(me too) but as I said it was almost scary he took it. He knew he didn’t want to go on a FA tour with a messed up knee. And putting him at LT should have been an option. I thought they kept him to play LG. 

  If you want to blame the coaches, that’s great. Matsko has been overrated for years. But .Paradis has been awful up to this point. No excuse will change that.

I appreciate the time that was put into that article. I know that’s not easy. I don’t necessarily agree with everything in it, but I appreciate the effort. I feel 61 has underperformed. I would also say that everybody’s been put in a hard position this year, because nobody expected Cam to miss this much time.

I wouldn't call The Riot Report a random internet guy. 

And he doesn't appear to be injured.  And Denver used him differently than Carolina is.

But hey.  You obviously know what you are talking about.

So underperforming based on talent level or scheme? The impression I get is on the latter but it's hard to gauge in isolation.

Because there is a big difference in watching a game at live speed, and breaking down film, looking at assignments, and focusing on one player. Read the article and maybe you will see what we are talking about. My opinion on him has changed after reading that article and looking at the breakdown.

I'm not as down on the OL as the rest of you.  Injuries have once again wrecked any chance of forming a cohesive unit.  It took, what, 2 games till we were down to our 3rd string LT.  How many years has this been the case?

Injuries to Moton and Turner have hurt more than anyone talks about.  Roten has been praised for his pulling abilities, but is that enough?

If this line (and I mean Daryl as a backup LT only) had stayed healthy for a stretch of 4 or 5 games early in the season, I think it would have been a lot better.  It's just that as soon as one guy gets back, down goes another and that kills continuity, which is essential on the O Line.

A healthy Daly/Little at LT, Van Roten at LG, Paradis, Turner and Moton is a pretty good, young lineup.  They just need to get healthy and learn to work together.

However, QB problems and young WRs have exacerbated the problem.  Is Daly really a steal or was he benefitting from Kyle getting the ball out of the pocket faster?

I think the tools are there.  I do want to draft an interior OL in case Paradis isn't up to form, and Turner isn't the same as he used to be, and at least to give Van Roten competition.

But that said, as a lifelong Panthers fan, I will never, ever, be angry at an OL draft pick in any round.

Where has this writer played? Coached? Anything? Why should I listen to some guy breakdown a couple plays?

I don’t think he’s injured. But it would be a lot better than the alternative. That’ he’s awful.

Let’s look at the simple facts. Paradis’s contract, averages out over his 3 years pays him, on average to be the 11-12th rank center in the league, money wise. So pretty much a top 10 center.

Play-wise, he’ll have to average around a top 3 center for 2020 AND 2021 for him to justify his money. 
 
Since he’s pretty much hit his peak and isn’t a rookie, I don’t see that happening. I don’t care how much the Panthers ask of him, if he plays like he did this year for the next two years, he’ll e a compete waste of cap. Hell as of now, in one of those years, he’ll be the 6th highest paid center on the NFL.

But you are ignoring a huge alternative.  Poor coaching that is setting Paradis up to fail.

Speak for yourself. I’ve been watching the OL all year. Since Cam went out that’s all I watch. And over half the plays are shown numerous times. It’s not that hard whe it was your job for four years.

This year Paradis was Center 17 on the pay chart.  Will be Center 12 on the pay chart next year.  Can be cut the next.

Yet your keystone argument is "maybe he is injured, I don't know".

Not really selling yourself as someone knowledgeable about what is going on.

Feel free to read the article and show how the person in question is wrong.

The same coaches that coached Ryan Kalil to All Pro and made Tyler Larsen at least NFL caliber. But they ruined a top 10 center? Then they should be fired immediately......right?
