The Grier Question

You're practically sobbing on your keyboard because there's a conversation on whether or not we should give our 3rd round drafted rookie QB an opportunity if we get into a situation where we're eliminated from the playoffs with nothing to play for.

Get a grip, man.

What the fug are you talking about dude. There is a huge difference between discussing a topic and crying. Just because I call someone a nut hugger doesn't mean I'm crying. I think you need to chill out with accusations a bit. If Grier was the answer why not start him when we played the easy part of the schedule not when he's going to hit the buzz saw?

You put Grier in now with the way the oline is playing and you shell shock him.

I know a lot of people think that, I'm just not a proponent of it. I think guys that have it just have it. Guys who get rattled early on and have their confidence cracked were probably never going to work out anyway.

Haskins looks to be progressing, I honestly think we loose to the skins in a couple weeks. they will pound the rock down our throats and the defense they have is pretty average.

I actually see that as Rivera's last hurrah. I think we play well against a bad team once again.

Recall as well that (at least according to "All or Nothing") it was Tepper who forced Ron to sit Cam after the NO MNF game last year. It will probably take Tepper again forcing Ron's hand to see Grier.

Edit to add: If I'm an owner and I have to twice force my HC to do something, it doesn't bode well for his future.

I just wonder how that conversation would go if Ron already feels he's fired anyway. He might just stand firm and force Tepper to drop the ax to get himself on the job market ASAP. Honestly, it would probably be the smart move on Ron's part.

Yeah no. Even Cam has been shell shocked by our Oline over the years and he's a MVP. Letting a guy who has bad mid range accuracy play against some of the best teams we have faced, while having a horrible Oline is a good way to ruin a QB in many way. Don't let desperation fool you into thinking a good outcome will happen.

I'm not at all convinced the outcome would be good. I honestly didn't want to draft Grier. But, what's done is done and if the season is lost already might as well try to get a look at what you may or may not have in live action.

Yeah you are dreaming at this point. Rivera isn't going to make the decision easy. He's going to try to win as many games as possible.

Yes. Garbage time and then another re-examination when elimination is proclaimed or when the percent hits the level where Ron pulls out his tshirt that confirms nice guys finish with a stupid tshirt and a handful of excuses for motivation.

I see this as a chance for Grier to get some experience & tape accumulation and a chance for Allen to take a breath, collect himself and regroup. They hype train was too much for all of us and it would be good time soon for a reset for Allen while the talking heads take their ridiculous BS elsewhere.

Then you deal till hopefully we get a better GM or HC. This team is just woefully devoid of talent at the moment. Mostly because Hurneys FAs has bombed horribly. Secondly because both Dave's and Hurneys draft picks have.
