I know it's depressing, but lets talk about draft eligible QBs

How can we justify drafting Qb now when we got Grier last year?

Grier was drafted to be our backup. We used a comp 3rd on him. He was viewed as a good backup with starter potential. If a talent like Tua falls to us, you take him in a second. If Tua needs time to recover, we see if Cam will play out his last year with us (not sure he would without an extension). To be able to transition from Cam to Tua would be great.

evidently norv loved grier and hurney had him rated the #1 qb.   ron, norv, hurney - they need to be employed by the xfl.  that's about where their abilities grade out.   i could see ron on the sidelines coaching a mighty mite team.  running some kid into cte by 6th grade

I think Tua, Herbert and Burrow are the top three prospects with Tua's injury obviously being the wildcard. Reports are that he will make a full recovery

If we don't go QB in the first and Tua is available at any pick after he's worth the risk.

Jordan Love will be the boom or bust prospect.

I like Eason is overrated personally but admittedly he's the one I've done the least research on

I do NOT get the fascination with Hurts. The guy was not a good passer at bama, and Lincoln is a genius at scheming people open for easy throws. He is a media darling but I bet the NFL will see through this

Again my plan as the Panthers would be to keep Cam unless a team offers a bounty of picks for him and to draft a QB in the first.

The best case scenario is Cam comes back healthy, the young QB (maybe Tua) can learn and potentially heal for an entire year. The year after you can reassess and deal whichever you like. Remember we can always franchise Cam after next year.

The worst case scenario is you kept Cam on a cheap deal and have a rookie in the waiting.

This is coming from a huge Cam stan and I've been so sad the last few weeks with all these rumors about him being done with the Panthers

Borrow and Tua look like the top.  You can probably talk yourself into Herbert but after that you might as well wait for 2021.

Nah, don't undersell Herbert at all. He is the closest thing to a Wentz/Luck type prospect that you can get.

Well this staff clearly needs to go. Something I think we both agree on. Tua with Grier backing him up sounds like a promising future. I don’t see Tua dropping to us though...

Eason just has a freakish arm and physical skill set, his decision making is highly questionable at times, and I am sure people are questioning his dedication to the playbook after his last two games. Best comparison for him is going to be Matthew Stafford.

Even that was probably too early.

I know most teams were not that high on him.

I sat through his poor showing at seniorbowl week.

Norv was the one that was high on him.  Even being on record of saying he had Grier ahead of Daniel Jones and Kyler Murray.

Problem, Norv will be gone at the end of the season like Rivera and Hurney.  The new staff could be in that 90% that wasnt high on him.  Again Similar to our old staff liking Clausen, new staff comes in the next year and Picks Cam.

I know I am not a professional or anything, but the fact anyone had Grier over Kyler or DJ is astonishing.
