Football Outsiders: "Kyle Allen Has The Worst Quarterback Game In The History Of Our Stats"

If you read it they base it on playing against a terrible Falcons defense. That's fine if you just look at the entire body of work this year. But just a weak earlier this same Falcons team held the Saints to 9 points, sacked Drew Brees 6 times and held him to a QBR of 24.6. So this Falcons defense had been playing better recently than what their overall body of work this season shows.

Falcons the the last 2 weeks have been the 49ers on D and the 49ers have been the Falcons.

LOL! You really are all in on this.

There are two D1 college fanbases who could've told you how this would end up.

He's on his third go round now of showing early promise before crashing and burning hard.

This is the really frustrating part. Allen has had really really nice passes at times, and then really really bad passes. Unfortunately, the bad passes are becoming more prevalent in recent weeks. It's like A&M and Houston all over again. We in a time machine?

A lot of people are blaming the o-line and they should be blamed to some extent but even with a clean pocket he had a 46 rating..

Maybe he’s young and struggling to read defenses, maybe with time he’ll improve. Personally I think he’ll end up being a decent backup.

I do think it is the O-line to a large degree, because even when given those few opportunities of clean pocket, QB feels constant pressure and hurries and frankly, it just messes with your mind.  Even when Cam played and was getting hit a lot, it showed how he was rushing or pushing his throws, it got to him mentally.  Kyle has some bad games yes and I think he needs to continue to learn from it but also realistically he could just simply tank and be nothing more than a back-up, if that.  That pressure to rise up and be the QB to lead the team can also weight heavy on his mind, kinda like the pressure of kickers to make the game winning field goal the last few seconds of 4th quarter...I admit, I'd puke can't handle it, lol  There are just too many variables at play and everyone handles it differently.  I just simply want the team to mesh and run smoothly as a whole.  Even a close lost makes me feel better knowing we put up a fight.  The blowouts are what sickens me.

Also, why tf are we passing so much early in the game instead of pounding the run with the obvious best player on the team? We've also removed a lot of the creativity from our play calling like the end arounds to DJ and Samuel and have become more traditional. It's really exposed Allen, and beyond that, hurt the team.

Speculation: I don't doubt that Ron/Hurney wanted to try to showcase Allen to make the case that we absolutely have the option to trade Cam. Unfortunately, it's blown up in their face.

Oh yeah we just need Newton back so this line can permanently put him out of the NFL. I keep forgetting he's going to make the 32nd ranked Center an all pro and levitate above the rush. Your right Allen sucks dur hur.

You might be the worst troll I’ve ever encountered on the internet but at least your consistent I guess

Just look at the rest of that list. Allen's statistical line looks better than any of them. He has the highest completion percentage and almost 140 more passing yards than number 2 on that list. And the 4 interceptions were obviously bad, but 2 players on that list had 6 picks. You can't honestly look at that game and say it was the worst performance by a qb in nfl history. That's just silly. If Atlanta keeps up their defensive renaissance, it might fall off the list altogether as they rerun the numbers.

Obviously it was a bad performance that doesn't need to be defended. But the whole premise is so ridiculous, it needed to be said.
