Because he’s proven with a clean pocket he can be elite.

Allen, has not.

It is really quite simple.

The guys under a one year contract that is below market value, even with the injuries yes its a gamble but god damnit Cam deserves one more chance. I just hope HE wants to give it to us. An offensive minded HC could hopefully sway him into giving it a shot. I really dont think he is done and tbh, needed this year to get the shoulder fully healthy. Just needs to go ahead and bite the bullet on foot surgery and he will actually be 100 percent for the first time in a long time come next July... Even still Gotta get that D at least up to par to have a chance at real team success, its lacking in all three fazes.

Double edged sword.

The line was awful yesterday. Don't see how anybody can deny that. I wouldn't have bet on Peyton Manning playing behind that swiss cheese protection.

With that said, one of the things that has been so good about Allen is his ability to stay even keeled even under duress. Yesterday, that wasn't there.

That may have been his redeeming factor in the past, that he comes back "even keeled under duress". unfortunately, that doesn't compensate for his poor decision making and lack of arm strength.

If all he can actually accomplish is to be 'stoic' after his poor judgement plays or the line collapses, then what do you really have?

Well, as Scot is pointing out, even that failed him yesterday. Up til yesterday, I have thought that Allen’s strengths gave him a better chance than most to perform at an acceptable level while he worked on improving his weaknesses, but after watching the collapse yesterday, I am less confident of this.

Weren’t we just saying cam had shell shock from so many pressures that when he actually did have time he panicked?

im pretty sure that was a thing on the huddle the last 8 years

I’m not saying he didn’t make poor choices but just because he has a couple clean pockets in a 14 pressure 7 sack game doesn’t mean to quickly add up the rating for those plays and try and narrate some sort of agenda give me a break. The oline has been straight trash

No no no Allen doesn't get those excuses. It doesn't fit their narrative of he's a trash QB. Rivera has said when he was getting smashed by this line he needed to get the ball out quickly. Now we see the results of that. Teams now just take away his safety valve in CMC and our line and WRs do the rest.

It also doesn’t help when your quarterback throws it to the opposing team every time we get into the red zone.

I'm far from a football expert, but there were too many times I'm going "Shouldn't Little be doing SOMETHING to stop the defender?"  I was not at all happy with his game.  Hopefully he can get it turned around or put LT back at the top of the off-season priorities list.

Allen now may be statistically the worst QB stats wise with a clean pocket. He was one of the worst going into this week.

Not to mention a lot of times he’s quick to bail on a clean pocket and create some of these pressures himself.

But hey! He’s got “moxie”

I love it when people say the M word. "Moxie" what is that anyway? The white version of swag lol
