I need someone to convince me this is actually good. I watched the hook and was completely disinterested by the end of it. Maybe it’s the fact I want Boba to be the main character. Maybe it’s the fact it’s TV-PG. Maybe it’s the fact it’s disney fuging up and just repackaging the same story. 

I mean this show had everything going for it. I love Jon Favreau. I love non lightsabers Star Wars. I love the fact that are trying to “re”-make the HBO Star Wars treatment. 

But the hook didn’t sell at all.

If you don't like this show I'm not sure you like Star Wars, to be honest.

Solo was a western set in space as well, but it was more of a train/stagecoach heist story, where Mandalorian is a lone stranger saving the frontier town kind of feel.

This show takes it's cue from Star Wars in how it tells the story visually with a minimum of dialog, doesn't go out of it's way to explain the environment, and just places you in the middle of it all and lets you discover the story for yourself. The idea is that it transports you to someplace completely different, yet familiar in a lot of ways. In Star Wars, the music was a major part of that grounding, but audiences have evolved enough to let them get a little more interesting with the music (at least the instruments). The soundtrack still has themes like the original but they are a lot more moody and directly connected to the characters it seems.

Oh and I don’t like Disney Star Wars. You are right. I’m 100% EU. Solo, honestly not that bad though everyone hated it. Besides that, complete crap. I haven’t watch 8 and I have no plans to watch 9. Maybe once they get to the point where they are creating their own stories it’ll get good again.

Third episode was indeed awesome! But the series is going to need B plot in order to remain fresh. I was actually hoping for a deviation from the baby yoda story and then return to it the episode after that. Hope it doesn't just settle into a season-long cat and mouse as more and more forces try to steal baby yoda.

Loving every minute so far.  I had initially thought it was too short as well.  But,  what we aren't getting is what drags so many good shows down.  Too much filler and back story.  It's an "Action/Adventure" story so far and keeps you wanting more.  It has definitely taken me back to childhood memories of watching the original trilogy.
