We can't and he can't holdout. 1st round rookie contracts are set in stone through the first four seasons. You can't renegotiate them or extend them until after the fourth season.

That’s false because Dallas extentended Zeke at start of year 4 of his rookie deal

There are three types of coaches in this league.

A. Just straight up bad coaches, think Seifert, these guys are just bad and not cut out for the job, plain and simple.

B. Then you have average to slightly above average coaches. These coaches have a shelf life, and they last typically 5-7 years before it gets stale and spoiled and you have to replace them. They aren’t terrible like Seifert but more a long the lines of consistently inconcsistent. Think Jeff Fisher, Lovie Smith, Dan Quinn. They will have a few good seasons here and there and he’ll might even catch lightning in a bottle one year and make a SB appearance, but they aren’t dynasty coaches.

C. Dynasty coaches. These coaches are elite of the elite. Think Cowher, Carrol, Belichick and Sean Payton. These are coaches that have staying power, they love, they live, they breathe the game and take losing very personally. Just appearing in a SB isn’t enough, just winning A super bowl isn’t enough, no, they strive for multiple championships at all costs.

Incase you haven’t figured it out by now, Rivera belongs in the B. category. Rivera’s shelf life was 2015 and each year the stink in the fridge has just grown and grown and now it’s just unbearable, time to toss him out.

Agree, Rivera is a John Fox/Fisher

Sounds about right to me.

So you want a guy who still can’t figure out how to beat OSU and has done nothing at Michigan to take over for Ron...

makes perfect sense

Big difference between NFL and NCAA. Saban never won 10 games in the NFL, so I guess he should not be at Alabama. JHs philosophy might not work with kids as it does with professionals.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
