Do you see how this thread has turned all political and got way out of bounds? Well imagine what the Panthers locker room could potentially be like. Just all over the place instead of a tight cohesive unit like say.... The Niners. Funny how that's the team Kap and Reid played on huh?

Furthermore, this is a fuging idiot thing to say. I have disagreements with my coworkers and we still get work done. Imagine thinking that players are too stupid to focus on multiple things at once. Reid pretty much showed why NFL teams are hesitant to bring Kaepernick in.   Look at the outsized media presence hitting him up after a big loss.   Are they there to ask about how the team and players will respond or how Reid feels about the next opponent?  Nope, they are there to ask about a guy that is not even on the roster.

 

During his last season in Sam Francisco, there were reports that came out about some players getting frustrated with the constant media presence and pretty much living under a spotlight as a result of the massive media draw to Kaepernick.   He was well respected and received the Len Eshmont award but it was an awful season from a bad team and the media was a nonstop presence at the team facility which didn't help things any.   

 

You can support Kaepernick's social activism and his overall message to promote better policing and hold law enforcement accountable consistently when they F*** up and still want no part of him and the media circus on the team.  No part of that is conducive to winning football games in anyway and I don't think it is being a dick to say that.

However, a very large portion of the Carolina Panthers ticket buyers do so....

Are you really naive enough to think that the kind of controversy that a player like Kap and Reid have had around them cannot (like I said, potentially) negatively impact a locker room? Serious? If that's the case then why has Kap been out of the league so long? Why was it such a big thing when the Panthers signed Reid? Why was he out of football and not signed by a team immediately? Deep throating the NFL's boot??? Holy crap man! They are NFL FOOTBALL PLAYERS. This is what they have dedicated their lives to, it's a dream come true to be a part of this and make millions of dollars in doing so. Every single player can have their own personality and believe what they want to believe in, they have that right no problem with that. But when your MAIN focus DURING the season is all about your political beliefs, and you are a key component on defense, and they are relying on you to make plays and you don't.... If I was in that locker room, I'd have something to say for sure, not necessarily out loud, but maybe, depends on the player/ individual I guess. The point is... see how this may disrupt/divide a locker room? It's the EXACT reason teams do not want Kap and why Reid was lucky to get another shot.... That's why it chaps people seeing the interview after the game. They mostly do not care about what his beliefs are, they just see how he was late getting over to help Luke on that bomb to Julio and how our defense just sucks as a whole. Do you REALLY think this kind of controversy can't have a negative effect on a team? Does Reid play like his mind is on the game? I'm not so sure, maybe he just sucks. If it is why use it as a platform? You have a long off season for that. PLENTY of time to express yourself.

Eric Reid has been a fine player for us. Not sure if you are aware of this but this is hands down the best pass defense we've fielded since 2015. Dunno what you're crying about. We didn't lose this game because Reid was late to assist Luke on one play, we lost it because Kyle Allen gave the ball away four times. We also didn't lose the game because Reid fights for social justice. And what makes you think this is his main focus throughout the season? Is it because he keeps getting asked about it (particularly after today's game since that's what this thread is about)? That's what the media does, kid. Especially after today's game since Kaepernick just had that work out yesterday and Kyle Allen fuging sucks. The media goes for low-hanging fruit constantly because sports reporting is a joke. These are the same people who hate Cam for being too black and celebrated Kyle Allen as the new franchise QB after one month of easy games where all he did was give it to CMC while the defense had 6 sacks and 3 turnovers every game.

Also he should absolutely use any media availability to promote his desire for social justice if he wants. If you get a platform you should use it. And if you want to get upset about the media doing their thing, well, that's on you. Don't get mad at Eric for answering a question, dingus.

Everyone that seems to play with Reid has said nothing but he's a great teammate. Those who dislike him are usually of the fox news pro trump variety. If Ron supports and liked they guy then that should tell you he isn't cancerous to the team because a guy who's job depends on a locker room not being a hornet's nest kinda wouldn't tolerate it. Those who seem to think he is divisive,aren't in the locker room and just want something to hate the guy about because you dont like his cause.

As far as him sucking sure, he misses some tackles but sucking since he got here lol.. we have won a few games off his back. He has come away with fumble forcing tone setting and even a walk off int a few times. He seems to have a knack for those big play moments as kich as you point out his miss tackles. Is he a coverage savant? No.is he serviceable starter in a secondary that doesn't value safety's? Umm yea. Problem is he an tre Boston do the exact same thing. Personally I think Reid is better at it than Boston.
