Your bigger issue at hand is the head coach and general manager who have constructed this nightmare of a mess. And the owner, who boasted about wanting to be a winner from day one, yet retained these two individuals to put together this sub-standard package of dogshit.

A backup QB is pretty far down the list of things you should be mad about. But again, it’s the position that gets the spotlight. He was pretty terrible this week. So I get it.

I get it and you’re probably right in the end. We will figure that out soon enough but a smart man doesn’t jump in with both feet as the new guy (Owner or not) and just start firing people .

i think it was the pragmatic move. Long game .

what he does after this season you can judge him on .Being  cautious is a good thing  I think you would agree.

I hope they're not. The decisions should be entirely unrelated. Cam's future should depend on his medical evaluation. Ron's future should depend on his team's performance on the field.

This is really unlikely

Oh yeah let's blame Allen when he has one of the worst lines in the NFL and a rookie. Real smart.

Oh yeah let’s blame Cam when he has had one of the worst lines in the NFL and has won an MVP with Ted Ginn as his number one receiver. Real smart.

Who knows? But it's entirely logical. It's just not intelligent to marry unrelated decisions to one another.

A coaching staff wanting "their guy" isn't just a feel good idea, it's about a variety of other factors, most notably scheme fit.

Cam has already been a big investment for any new potential staff, not just in regards to personality, but playstyle. To narrow the scope of talented coaching prospects just to find somebody who is acquainted with Cam's game isn't going to be palatable for an owner, especially one without any emotional connection to him, especially with the other concerns present.

i mean beyond the fact that Bell is one of the worst LTs to ever start an NFL game, or that Silatolu sucks, or that we signed a 6'7 oaf from the CFL to play OT, the fact that we had a fuging DT who never played OT before as our starting RT is mind boggling.

Nate Chandler was an undrafted free agent DT. Not only was he a DT. But he wasn't even a good DT.

Cam had a top 15 line that year and a generational talent but year let's ignore that.
