To the bold; if you’re going to point this out, then you need to be willing to point it out about Kyle as well. Their completion %’s are around the same, so either he’s slinging them too high or low to his receivers.

As for expectations; whether they’re high or low for Kyle, accuracy is accuracy. Since Kyle went undrafted, are we saying that the expectations of him throwing an accurate ball isn’t there, or we expected Cam to be more accurate due to draft position?

I will agree that we’re highly inconsistent. We’re inconsistent, but when you’re proven wrong or called out on behaviors that are hypocritical, then you need to be able to accept that. I have no problems with admitting when I’m wrong.

I can see I’m doing a poor job of communicating what I’m trying to convey. Yes their completion percentages are about the same but my point lies with the fact one started low and trended up, while the other started high and trended down. Objectively the first guy is the one you want, right? But people don’t assess it that way because of the way they latch onto an opinion based on early impressions and then don’t change them. It’s not a rational approach, but humans do it all the time.

If you’re saying Cam trended down, I’d say that it was due to the head hunting and injuries. Otherwise, I have no doubt he’d be an elite QB; as evidenced by his stats and winning prior to getting his shoulder blasted. Also, if we’re talking of trending upwards, Cams completion was trending up, while Kyles is trending downward.

I feel this conversation is going nowhere, so I’ll just end it by saying, 1.) you cannot say one is inaccurate without calling the other the same and 2.) if one is going to moan and whine about Kyle going through the ringer and taking shots, then he/she better make sure they weren’t taking part in the bashing of a young Cam. Otherwise, it’s quite hypocritical and you’d be better off just ignoring the bashing like many told those who tried to stick up for Cam.

I respect your opinions, though.

Yeah sorry I just read a really good book recently on how 2 guys won a Nobel prize for their research into how flawed people’s perceptions and decision making are and I’m dragging that abstract psychology stuff into a football convo and I’m just making things confusing and unclear. Forget I said anything and just leave my two cents at people are inconsistent for reasons both disappointing and goofy.

You’re good, bro.

I know the odds are stacked against us, but I am still hoping for playoffs.

Might have to hit you up about those books you’re reading. Sounds interesting, and I’m always into learning about the makeup of human beings

The Undoing Project by Michael Lewis

same guy who wrote The Blind Side, Moneyball, and The Big Short. I recommend pretty much anything he writes.

"Football Historian"

It's amazing how well respected he is when he is wrong more times than not about things over the years but nobody calls him out for it. I have clashed with him many times over the years and he has always been against Newton. So when the first chance to dumb him for whoever pops up of course he would be all in.20191119_202928.thumb.jpg.5899d4b341191a1cb0f6eac619c2ee00.jpg

I will be frank and say I was racial bias towards McCaffrey being a top NFL RB. Race wasn’t the sole factor but add my perception of him being undersized it also fed my other narrative. Fortunately I was wrong and I can say it has opened my eyes on my own biases and not to have them in the future or at least make me more critical in my criticisms. To be honest even with Cam, I wasn’t sold on black QBs(by the way I’m a black guy)and very much wanted Gabbert as he was the mold of QB I thought would help the team succeed. You don’t have to be a hard core racist to have these biases but to be willfully ignorant of them is a tragedy.

Hope you didn't sprain a pec patting yourself on the back there....

@Mr. Scot will never admit whenb he’s wrong. He just makes excuses

Nah :)

I'm just not interested in dumbass threads like this one.

The only thing I would point out to the dullards is that I'm not a Kyle Ellen fan. If I'm a fan of anybody, it's Will Grier. But ultimately my view is the same as it's always been, whoever helps us win is who I want to see.

As far as Allen, I've stated that he's good enough to play in the NFL and that he's shown improvement, but never suggested that he's a franchise quarterback or anything of that sort. I know some project it that way because they either lack reading comprehension or just see what they want to see. but feel free to link a post if you can.

The question of how good he will be is still unanswered, and despite what some may think, the Falcons game isn't the final word. There's still six more games. No one knows what will happen.

One other thing: I know some here are celebrating because they believe misfortune for Allen means good fortune for Newton. Sorry fellas, that's not how it works. Newton's future is based solely on Newton and the Panthers, and right now that's still in doubt. It may or may not change, but Kyle Allen isn't affecting it either way.

That's all. Feel free to carry on with your silliness.

I’ve aimed to make this point before, too. Anyone who was driving a Kyle Will Replace Cam narrative was getting that from non-credible windbag takes in the media.
