What about those meanies picking on Ron...  Arent they racist too....

@bull123 and I couldn't be more far apart ideologically yet he can see that he made an error and I respect that. I'll admit that I have been consumed by the toxic climate and am probably more critical on Kyle Allen than I should be. You however, good God!

I'll just leave this here...

You wanna know the last time Cam Newton had a zero-touchdown, four-interception game? It was never ago, during the 200never season. Newton has started 124 NFL games, and zero of them were as bad as a game Allen managed a few months into his career as a starter.

If you can find any example of Ron being criticized in a way unlike his white colleagues. Cam's got a laundry list.

Ironic coming from a guy who posts this not long ago

I will get poo'd but....    I deal with the public at my job all day...  The Panthers are a huge topic....  When Cam comes up in discussion a wide majority of folks say they are tired of him and his antics...  Showboating, the clothes, the general circus he brings to the table...  I admit I am one of those people...  I want him to be the best Panther ever but be more business like on the field...  Watch some of the top QB's warming up....  Its all business....  Cam runs around acting like an airplane....  Maybe I just expect more out of the face of a franchise....

What gets me (and probably everyone who is considered a "Cam fan" around here) is that Kyle was/is not scrutinized nearly as much as Cam is. Now we're talking about a  $100m #1 draft pick vs an UDFA so I get there's a different level of expectations. But after all of the criticism over the years and all of the good memories Cam's brought to this franchise despite it, everyone suddenly being so forgiving and supportive of the new guy's mistakes reeks of the same sort of veiled racism that's plagued this fanbase for Cam's whole tenure in Carolina.

I just want the Panthers to be successful and wish we could analyze football without the BS, but unfortunately Cam brings out that in people and Kyle's 15 minutes of glory only highlighted it.

1. I can agree with parts of this. Im certainly part of this as I got pretty excited about Allen. For me, when I get excited about Allen its easy to overlook or look past some of the flaws because I see a 23 year old QB that has 'potential'. I would be harsher on Cam making the same mistakes because at this point in his careen he shouldn't be. A good example of that is his foot work. It drives me nuts that after all these years Cam still throws off his back foot as much as he does. That same issue with Allen I would expect him correct. Newton I EXPECTED him to already correct. Same situation, but different expectation.

2. I agree 100% with you. I just come here to talk panther football and a whole lot of other stuff gets thrown into the conversation... Its too bad but it is what it is I suppose.

Those willing to bash Allen because he had a bad game (basically determining that he is a bust or will never be a starter)---

What did you say about Josh Norman after 8 games?

What did you say about James Bradberry after 8 games?

Do you know how well Ryan Kalil did at G during his rookie year?

Did you bash Haynes and Vernon Butler?  What about Evan Mathis?  Greg hardy?  Charles Johnson?  Look at their performances during their first few seasons---they were not good.

Steve Smith had 10 catches his rookie season.

In other words, if people want Kyle Allen to develop into a good NFL QB, who the hell are you to tell them they are wrong?  Players take time to develop.  Why is this hard for you?

9/24/2017 against the Saints

0 Touchdowns, 3 Interceptions, and 2 Fumbles.  He did get a rushing TD, but either way, to act like Cam hasn't had similar bad games is someone having an agenda.

You were wanting to trade and get rid of Cam after his first few years. Many people had the same reservations towards Cam after his first few years, yet you joined in the bashing party. You don’t want Kyle to go through it, though

I agree. I imagine most of it will stop when he's played during a come from behind win, then leads a game winning drive, beats a team with a winning record, etc... etc... up to & including a MVP worthy season.

And even if he does all of that, there will still likely be people who pick apart every bad game he has.
