Why are you Allen homers acting like these people and posts like them don’t exist?

I will get poo'd but....    I deal with the public at my job all day...  The Panthers are a huge topic....  When Cam comes up in discussion a wide majority of folks say they are tired of him and his antics...  Showboating, the clothes, the general circus he brings to the table...  I admit I am one of those people...  I want him to be the best Panther ever but be more business like on the field...  Watch some of the top QB's warming up....  Its all business....  Cam runs around acting like an airplane....  Maybe I just expect more out of the face of a franchise....

This is our bloody MVP, #1 overall pick, and generational talent of a QB!

So once again I ask. Why are you being obtuse? Is it deliberate? @maddog1945 @stratocatter @Catsmiaow @Iron Saint @SBiii @bull123 @ickmule @dave-o

I'll even add you jolly folks @App Panther @Snake and @MVPccaffrey. Why are you obtuse?

Couldn't care less about a few mouthbreathers whether they are on the MAGA side or the Kaepernick race-baiting side.  Doesn't change Cam's atrocious play the last nine starts of his (Kyle's bad game yesterday it still produced a passer rating better than half) or that his body is shot.  Just like crapping on Kyle isn't going to bring Cam back either.  The Camthers part of the fanbase is deluded enough to think that Cam is closer to coming back every time Kyle plays poorly, so I get why they dump on him, maybe if they realized their fates are separate they'd actually support our starter and the team as a whole instead of gleefully celebrating poor play from our rookie, but then again they spent the last 8 years dumping on the coaching staff, other parts of the roster, and front office, even during winning seasons, so I doubt it.

I resent being called out fwiw. Bullying stuff there bud. Doesn't reflect well on you.

I pie what I want and most of the time it is because I like it and some other times it is because someone says something that goes against the crowd that is calling people racists and attacking their freedom of expression of their thoughts. And I support fighting back against irresponsible characterizations. Name calling in an argument, btw, indicates that you cannot intellectually counter so resort to personal attacks.

I mean, see, here you are calling me a Kyle Allen homer. I do not need to defend against that, I won't dignify your behavior by trying to. My posts are on the record and if it means so much to anyone just look them up.

Cannot say this enough for it to get through some people's heads but Cam Newton is not beyond criticism and every criticism of him as a player is not motivated by racism. I know I am wasting my time so I am done.

This is ridiculous.

How much time? I feel a full season to see that he isn't improving is enough

The example I use to demonstrate the top end is John Elway---He was worse than Allen until year 3--when the team built the OL and brought in a few good WRs (and TE).

Today's NFL throws young guys into the mix without a supporting cast and then they blame the QB.  There are more of these than there are success stories.

Aaron Rodgers was brought along.

Brady even had a good player in front of him.

Brees needed a good fit.

Then you have the Browns---who did not know how to build a team, and they have ruined QBs--

I think some are building and attacking straw man arguments. Criticizing Kyle Allen does not mean you are "Cam-only fan". I want the team to do well regardless of who is at QB.

However, I had concerns about Allen's ability to become a long term option at QB even during the 4 game winning streak. He fumbled alot, struggled to drive the ball downfield outside the numbers, and benefited from a defense generating an insane amount of turnovers.

Furthermore, we were accepting moral victories. He turned over the ball twice in GB. An unforced fumble and a redzone interception. Yet, because he mounted a final drive to give us the opportunity to tie the game, not win but TIE it was okay to overlook his past tendencies of turning over the ball.

Finally, I understand that he is young and some might consider him a rookie. But I am not giving him the leeway you give to a Kyler Murray, who was taken first overall to the worst team in 2018. Allen was a UDFA. He inherited a team that was in win now mode. Allen has some good traits but it would be extremely foolish to have him penciled in as the starter for next season without legit competition being brought in.

I never implied nor accused the people that agreed with the OP of being racist just of being disingenuous. I highlighted the fact that Cam was an MVP on top of being a generational talent to show he deserves some bit of respect that posts like the OP are ridiculous if not unfair. Has Cam played poorly since his health became an issue? Yes. But does it warrant inflammatory posts like the one that OP put out and that you and many others agreed with? Hell no!

I don’t think anyone has explicitly stated Cam is above criticism but to throw a QB that has given so much to the team under the bus with posts like the OP you can’t then go on about people treating Kyle Allen poorly, when you and others as culpable for the bad environment we are currently in.

I'm honestly okay if folks were high on Kyle.  It's the folks that were high on Kyle at the expense of Cam that piss me off.  I'm new here so I don't know who that is yet.  We should want Kyle to play well as he is our starting QB, just like we wanted Cam to get to 100% so he can be the QB we have seen in years past.  Ultimately it looks like neither of those things are going to pan out at least in a Panthers uniform.  Why should we celebrate our QB playing awful?  Is it just so we can "dunk on" folks on a message board?  I feel bad for Kyle and Cam, both are going through it right now and I'm sure they are more frustrated than we could ever be as fans.

What gets me (and probably everyone who is considered a "Cam fan" around here) is that Kyle was/is not scrutinized nearly as much as Cam is. Now we're talking about a  $100m #1 draft pick vs an UDFA so I get there's a different level of expectations. But after all of the criticism over the years and all of the good memories Cam's brought to this franchise despite it, everyone suddenly being so forgiving and supportive of the new guy's mistakes reeks of the same sort of veiled racism that's plagued this fanbase for Cam's whole tenure in Carolina.

I just want the Panthers to be successful and wish we could analyze football without the BS, but unfortunately Cam brings out that in people and Kyle's 15 minutes of glory only highlighted it.
