I will get poo'd but....    I deal with the public at my job all day...  The Panthers are a huge topic....  When Cam comes up in discussion a wide majority of folks say they are tired of him and his antics...  Showboating, the clothes, the general circus he brings to the table...  I admit I am one of those people...  I want him to be the best Panther ever but be more business like on the field...  Watch some of the top QB's warming up....  Its all business....  Cam runs around acting like an airplane....  Maybe I just expect more out of the face of a franchise....

And the “Don’t you dare say anything negative about Kyle” crowd is in complete meltdown. Isn’t it a rule you have to be one or the other?

Cam throws 4 INT in the middle of one of the best rookie seasons ever.

Allen has more TOs than TDs. But we should absolutely look at them exactly the same? Good luck with that.

EDIT: And now I can easily see why.

Sure.  People didn't really debate that.  People were constantly saying on these forums that (before he was placed on IR) if Cam Newton returned this season and was 100% healthy..he should still be benched for that "hot hand" Allen.  This caused people to look at Allen much more critically to point out that while yes..we were initially winning.  Allen wasn't actually playing that well.  We then had selective stats thrown our way, were poo'ed into oblivion, called Cam Nut Huggers, etc.  Now that the very same stats don't support Allen the narrative is "the sample size is too small".

The Kyle Allen > healthy Cam Newton agenda being pushed here was a major building block that lead to threads such as this.

This isn't about a single 4 INT game.  Allen's entire season has not been good.  He has not been improving.  He has been steadily getting worse.

I would love to see if we had the same record with Cam as we have with Kyle.  We might have won the Tampa Bay and Green Bay games if Cam had been healthy but those are what if's,  San Fran and Atlanta we would have never won even with a healthy Cam.  The OLine has not improved any this year and Kyle is not going to run around but I did think his pocket presence was better than what it has been shown in the last 3 games.  Either he learns to move like Rogers or Brady or he will never make it as a back either.  Teams has tape on him and the coaches aren't helping him run plays he can take advantage of the other team.  I still say we trade Cam now not because he isn't good but he is not worth 30 million a year as a QB.  His record is not that good over his career to be paid that much.

I love how obtuse Kyle Allen Stans are being in this thread.

"Why can we just root for the team???"

I wish y'all kept this same energy when Cam is the starter. Win or loss.

Ever since Cam went down this forum has become unbelievably divided to the extreme. Most of the discussions the last few weeks were not 'what is best for the team long term' but more hate on Cam or hate on Allen.

I dont know the social politics down in the Carolina's but as an outsider look in, it sure looks ugly and it seems to be the back drop to a lot of peoples opinions here.

Thanks for the offer but I will pass...  See where I said I wanted Cam to be the best ever...  I know you probably read right past that since it goes against the racist drum you beat all day long...

Cam is better than Allen. Fact.

Cam's salary is $20,000,000 salary (and will need to be renewed) vs Allen $500,000 salary. Is Cam 40x better than Allen? That is the bigger question then who is better.

I am a Kyle fan.  How many times has Cam thrown 4 interceptions.   Last year in the Tampa Bay game on 12/2/18 I guess it was okay cause he was hurting.  Cam even had a 4 interception game in his first year against Detroit on 11/20/11.  I guess it is okay cause he was a rookie and he had to grown into the game, but you can't cut Kyle the same slack you gave Cam cause he wasn't a Number 1 draft pick.  Surprisingly Cam has had 11 3 interception games and 11 2 inceptions games during his career.  So we can't allow Kyle the same growing pains.  I didn't say Kyle was better than Cam but I see where he has better throwing skills than Cam at the same age.  Hell Cam can't throw a 5 yard pass for heck.     https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/what-are-the-most-int-in-a-game-by-cam-newton

If you want to compare Allen to Newton when they were the same age, look at the rookie records and awards Cam won. Rookie of the year, most TDs by a rookie, most yards by a rookie.  He was in the middle of a historically good season, Allen is not.  Thats why he's not going to get 'cut the same slack'.

We are just giving Kyle Allen the same energy they gave Cam for 9 years and they dont like it

Unfortunately, sitting on an extra 20 million in cap space isn't going to magically turn Allen, or Grier, or whoever into a viable starting quarterback.

If Newton indeed goes we are likely to continue sitting at the bottom of the division.

If you are for moving on from Cam then you are basically for tanking the rest of the season and all of 2020 because we aren't doing jackshit to stop the bleeding without a top draft pick.

Welcome to life after a franchise QB. Which is what some of us have been trying to tell those fans eager to speed up Newton's departure the last few years.
