This board is hopeless.....

just b/c a team wins a game doesn't mean you quit talking about the problems that exist.....wins don't erase weaknesses on a team. It makes people want to overlook them....but they still exist.

We learned good and bad today about Carolina. No problem w/ people wanting to talk about both the good and bad in wins AND losses.

Good

RBs

Def

Martin

and I still think Jarrett would make the passing offense better.

Bad

Fox and Davidson playcalling w/ a lead. Fox is always bad w/ a lead.

Jake has been bad all year....nothing was done today to lead us to beleive he can get the job done when he is asked to be key part of a gameplan....b/c he wasn't asked to be much of a part of it today.

This board is awesome. It provides some odd technical issues (it consistently thinks I'm posting twice, but that's okay), and gets laggy on game days... but if it wasn't laggy I'd be afraid the Panthers didn't have enough fans! ;)

I'm glad I found this place. Great group of people, plenty of intelligent posters, seems to be some good mods. Every board has it's fair share of people with terrible ideas, but what use would a forum be if everyone agreed with one another?

Obviously, you have not met us mods in person.

Today is all we need from Jake.

If he had played this type of game earlier in the year, we would be 5-2 today.

Jake merely needs to not hurt this team. He plays like today, we win Buffalo and Dallas.

No, I don't think all of Jakes problems are fixed. But, I will take Jake of today over Moore.

Fox and Co have ZERO confidence in Moore. They would not even let him throw a screen pass.

We play a very dominate game against a team that no one gave us a chance to win and you guys are bitching....

Keep your frustrating, depressing, dumbass opinions.

The Panthers wooped ass, fought hard, and deserved this win.

I am done with this depressing, ignorant board.

STFU and smile.

why do other people's opinions depress and frustrate you? does freedom of thought trouble you if the opinion differs from yours?

yes, a hard fought, "woop ass" game! they did deserve it!

you're done? please say it isn't so!

by the way, did you read all the threads? i'm one of the biggest anti davidson people around and gave him mad props in several threads. i started the season down on meeks but have now seen his genius over the last couple of weeks. again, read some threads.....

today was perfect panthers football. throwing 40+ times per game isn't! when we play like crap, and get our asses "whooped" fans have a right to be upset about how the team is being run.

get a grip dude! :dita:

You may not have noticed that he only threw one pass in the second half before he was injured on the second drive and the second pass play of the second half.

I had thought he had thrown two, but I didn't check the stats. Either way, hopefully he recovers from his injury and is fine.

I rarely post on the board, but do get in some reading.

One, just because people want to state the obvious--Jake didn't prove anything--- does not mean that they are being depressing. The fact of the matter is that we played dominate on defense and with the run game. If we are going to take "the ladder to the top" Jake is going to have to do more then hand the ball off and complete only a few passes. You seem to have this messed up logic, this warped notion that fans can't be objective. Truth be told a winning franchise like the Steelers would be doing the same dag on thing fans of this team do now if their QB led the league in interceptions and if his "best game" was only completing a few passes. Heck, he would be benched. Lets not get delusional here. The name calling and your bit*** and moaning makes you come off as childish and very immature. Grow up, it's called being objective.

Dude, post more.

Today's game really showed what I love, and hate about this team sometimes.

We get a lead, and it seems like Fox just wants to ride out the lead without really trying to add to it.

Jake didn't have a good game, he just didn't have a bad game.

    • Re: the safety talk - There's a range of roles they fall into.  And depending where on the spectrum, the value can absolutely align R1, but its rare.  If you identify one that can play 80% snaps off the bat and has the skillset for robber and slot roles, then it aligns.  The best slot a lot of the time (Hamilton, Branch, Emman, Pitre)  It can be tantalizing but many of the time, those defenses were in a good spot already (BAL, SEA, HOU for example)    And for a Fangio-esque defense running two-high-shell, heavy zone w/simulated pressures, and primarily 5 and 6 DB packages, having a guy that can adapt on a package-to-package basis is huge.  If you find a guy that can play back, play robber, and play as a slot-defender all in one is one of the most valuable types in the NFL.  Inversely, if you don't play that way, a FS has very minimal value.  Overall, I would say there is still more inherent value in a 3 down DL or edge rusher.  The nice thing about landing one is we have Ransom to pull back deep when they're in the slot.  There's a few in R2 that could be interesting in this respect.
    • Reader would be solid but Evero definitely has his preferences.  His types on the DL (all spots) are a bit different than the other Fangio disciples.  Even for 0/1, it seems likes the more athletic/fluid types over the power/clogs.  And he doesn't mind using undersized guy like Turk opposite DB.   I was really interested in Harmon & Tyleik Williams last year.  Unfortunately they went way higher than expected so fell between our 1-2 picks.  Unsure how this team thought of them.   Would be nice to get someone a bit more fierce and a pocket-collapser alongside Brown.  2 of the 3 should have that ability to disrupt on any given play.  Of the 1st Rd DLs, I definitely like McDonald but am a bit iffy on Woods & Banks.  The two DL after Round 1 that I think could be real finds are Kaleb Proctor & Darrell Jackson Jr.
    • Okay I hear Ed Oliver and Aaron Donald. Is that realistic?  I been sleeping on this guy.
