Heres a reality check....5.17 yards allowed per carry...1.89 rushing TD's per game.

Only five teams in history have done this over a full season.

None of this previous five where as bad in YPC and TD's allowed per game.

If this sh%t keeps up then they will make it six teams, possibly #1 of all time.

Very embarrassing. Don't think for one second that every team doesn't know this. Sad state of affairs...still want to go to the playoffs?

This same defense can stop Tevin Coleman/Brieda, Zeke, Carson/Russell, Dalvin Cook, Kamara, and Aaron Jones in the playoff. :)

Does anyone else think that there's too much emphasis, especially by players like Shaq, to try and strip the ball rather than make a good tackle? Several times during the Packers game, he was pawing/punching at the ball with one hand and hanging onto the ball carrier with the other, and getting dragged several yards after contact. Pissed me off because we wouldn't need turnovers so badly if they'd just make decent tackles and stop the run.

That's been a criticism of Rivera defenses all the way back to his time in Chicago.

They generated a lot of turnovers but also gave up some big (and some stupid) plays while trying to strip the ball.

Let's see how it plays out over the last half of the season. It's not like they aren't trying to fix it.

If they can get it under control, then we're sitting pretty.

I get being optimistic, but there comes a point where you're The Black Knight from Monty Python.

Hindsight is 2020 but keeping Starr would be preferable over KK.

Hopefully we can get a good DT like Derrick Brown. @tiger7_88 is that guy a run stuffer DT or a or more of a pass rushing DT?

He’s an absolute BEAST. Strong at either. Probably a better 3 tech just because his penetration would not fit as well at NT/1 tech. He would be leaving LBs hung out to dry. Would also fit well as a 5tech in a 3-4. A player like him would solve a lot of the rush def issues quickly.

If he’s not getting double-teamed or held, he usually does damage. I don’t like hyping up an Auburn player but he’s special. He tossed a GA OL like he weighed 100 lbs. Just tossed him to side and flattened the back. -

Bad news is we probably wouldn’t get him at 6-10. I would be shocked if he was avaiLable past 10.  I wanted him at our pick last year. But he shocked everybody and went back to school. Sort of a mixture of Wilkins and Lawrence from Clemson.

It's really bad but there are several teams this year who are significantly worse in yards, yards per carry, and first downs including the beloved Chiefs. It's why they are limited in their potential despite so many saying it's all about passing offense.

We have however given up the most rushing TDs which is significant and one that actually does seem to have some historic relevance. The 2008 Lions are the only team I can find since 2003 that are worse in this aspect.
