On par to be one of the worst run D's ever

Shouldn’t they have been paying attention to this after every game.

It's the same shitty scheme we have been running for years. So basically we took 3-4 personal and asked them to control gaps like a 4-3 DE and DT.

My concern is it will be like the passing game last year. The longer the season went, the more teams realized the limitations of the Panther's passing attack and exploited it. This year, its the run D. The Panthers had a good reputation for D, but teams are starting to realize its not true this year.

Not really. Not since 2014 have we had a legitimate defense.

It’s statistically impossible this team makes it to the playoffs at this point. They will be the first team with one of the worst rated run defenses to ever make it and only the second team in the last ten years to make it with an oline ranked as low as they are.

I get being hopeful but it’d be pretty damn impressive (and an extreme anomaly statistically speaking) to have those flaws and make the playoffs.

Heres a reality check....5.17 yards allowed per carry...1.89 rushing TD's per game.

Only five teams in history have done this over a full season.

None of this previous five where as bad in YPC and TD's allowed per game.

If this sh%t keeps up then they will make it six teams, possibly #1 of all time.

Very embarrassing. Don't think for one second that every team doesn't know this. Sad state of affairs...still want to go to the playoffs?

Can you clarify your statistic because as written it makes no sense. 5 other teams have done "this" but none were as bad in ypc and tds allowed per game? Since the only statistic you gave us was ypc and tds allowed per game, what was it that 5 other teams did since it wasn't give up that many ypc or tds?

yes very much so. just about every player on the defense has been carried 5 extra yards while they were just trying to fruitlessly wrestle the ball away instead of tackle

So true.  Effort has been pathetic this year. There’s been quite a few times where guys aren’t even finishing plays.

it feels like we have that country club veterans mentality. It’s a product of a lack of leadership on the defensive side of the ball.

Statistically impossible? We can still win our division.

You’re talking about not technically impossible. I am talking about never has happened statistically. I mean it could but never happening in the history of the NFL is as close to impossible as you can get.
