Packers recap:

Great game to breakdown for him.  On the final drive Allen played really well.  He thinks he had CMC on the second to last play but he rushed his throw.  One of the only times he rushed his throws all day.

Allens performance was far more positive then negative in an environment that can eat up young QB’s. Played with composure.
Best throw of the game was the 21 yarder to Wright.  Loved his aggressiveness on the throw.  They ran a mesh concept and could have taken the short throw but chose to make the more difficult throw.  Olsen 18 yarder was also really good.  Good ball placement.

Negatives were the overall OL was poor for the most of the game.   Panthers have to clean that up if they are going to make any run in the NFCS   Too many 1 on 1 with guys getting beat   Teams will start to use multiple stint concepts to press those issues going forward

DJ Moore:  in the context of this offense he is like a Michael Irvin for Norv. He’s not saying he should be compared to the player but Norv uses him in the same way. Having a big bodied WR is a good thing for Norv’s offense.  He really likes DJ Moore.  Getting much better against man coverage.

Defense:  the D line got manhandled    Got moves out of gaps. Played too high.
(Here is a crucial part to understand about our defense) He said defenses are not defined by how many men have their hand in the dirt.  Meaning our issue is not the 3-4.  It’s defined by gap concepts   We a still playing a 4-3 gap concept defense.  We just have two outside guys.   We played a 5 man, 1 gap front with the linebackers stacked.  Bottom line it’s still a one gap defense.   The DL players getting blown up is the issue, not necessarily the scheme.

Falcons:

Thing that changed that Saints game was Peat the LG getting hurt.  Backup was bad.

Hooper is a big loss for Atlanta.  He is critical for what the offense wants to do.

Hill is not a great back.  Needs space to work.  Not agile.

Ryan is still a good player.  He issue is that he feels like he has to put up 30pts and gets into trouble.

Not having any of our CB’s Bradberry or Jackson/Cockrell could be an issue for our defense.
