Should a loss to the Falcons on Sunday be the nail in Rivera's coffin?

with all the nails that should be in his coffin i'm not sure how it even has structural integrity any more. wood should be splitting apart by now.   not being able to do what's best for cam throughout the years should have already garnered him a coffin-less burial at sea

...with a funeral dirge playing in the background?

Something like this?

FWIW I always get a chuckle out of Mark Twain's line about the composer:

"Wagner's music is better than it sounds."

Not reading through the whole thread.

But dont think it will be the nail.

Again, out of Rivera's hands if DJax and Cockrell are out, and Bradberry is 50/50.

Hate to use excuses, but replace Rivera with any coach this Sunday.  And you wouldn't get any better result.

That coffin is nailed shut

Getting embarrassed by the 49ers closed the lid. Losing last week nailed that lid shut. He's gone after this year barring a miraculous resurrection, which isn't going to happen.

He done.

I so hope your right. But we all thought that last year too.

I can understand why Tepper gave them a second chance. Give them what they felt they needed to succeed, better equipment, indoor training facility, etc. Just tell me what you need. Meanwhile, he focuses on the business side of things, building the brand, getting new headquarters, etc.

They have no excuses. There are no more excuses. They've been given everything they could need to succeed and they still can't. They can't take what they've got and make it work. They can't even do it with his money and his advice.

They just can't get it done, so it's time now to move on. No one can say they just weren't given a legit shot.

I think the only question is, does he make it through the rest of the season or not. If Ron comes out flat again against the falcons, we may see an early exit. He gets swept by them and I can't see him finishing the year.

As many of us know, the Panthers have struggled against division opponents in recent seasons. The Panthers are 7-13 against the division since 2016.

Now, a struggling 2-7 Falcons team comes to Charlotte looking to put a positive spin on a bad season. The Panthers have already lost to a bad Buccaneers team at home in Week 2.

If Ron Rivera can't draw up a gameplan to beat a 2-7 division opponent at home, with playoff hopes already on life-support, Rivera has outlived his usefulness as head coach and the search for a new staff should begin immediately after the game.

Yes, absolutely yes. And this is the type of game he typically loses too.
