I don't think that counts as being with the Panthers in 2018.

Marty has said 2019 was going to be a learning year for Grier. No matter what, he would not be starting. 

I know we should not invoke the name of Clausen here, but Marty may remember the thrashing Clausen took his rookie year and the loss of confidence that probably effected his entire career as a result.

Will Grier will learn behind Allen. We are still technically in the playoff race and Allen gives us the best chance to make the playoffs. Once we are eliminated from the playoffs, then expect to see Grier.
