In hindsight, should Rivera/Hurney have been retained for the 2019 season.

I was a big advocate for regime change top to bottom in January. Get rid of all coaches and start a policy of no nepotism within the organization.

Fast forward to today, where would we be without Rivera/Hurney but instead a new coach that isn't on the hotseat?

Would we have a better backup QB situation?

Would Cam's injury have been treated better?

Would the team have more energy and excitement?

What say you? Would we be better or worse off than we are now?

if new coach said week 1 Cam you are going to sit out the next few games, Allen will start.  That would be the right move.  There are coaches better than Ron and then there are much worse coaches than Ron. I’m sorry Atlanta, you went 1-7 with a team that is much better than the other tank bowl contenders. Your coach sucks.

Hurney made a draft that looked good in preseason and pretty good in regular season - when they had a chance to play.

I think we would be better off without Rivera for sure. To me as someone who supported him for a long time and then gradually moved onto the fence, this season has just largely been confirmation of my doubts about his limitations. He is an average NFL HC, nothing more, nothing less. He has his strengths but his weaknesses have left him unable to grow and adapt much over time.

Hurney I am less sure needs to go. Paradis aside, his 2.0 tenure seems pretty strong. Not perfect but he does seem to have learned from his mistakes of the past. I would be more willing to let him continue for the time being if I were Tepper.

My answer to that is probably going to be obvious.

Rivera has been here too long and it just isn't working. Hurney isn't a long-term solution because the longer he's here, the worse it gets.

You absolutely can't keep the two of them together because they just aren't a winning combination and I absolutely don't want Marty picking our next head coach.

Still hoping for Kevin Colbert at GM and Dan Campbell at head coach. If we only get one or the other, could still be okay.

I'm still not ready to predict what's going to happen this offseason. I know what I feel should happen.

Jourdan Rodrigue has said that up to now, Tepper has been concentrating on the business side of things. This year he plans to concentrate on the football side, so that's something.

True we get new coaches its another 2-3 years before we can be playoff contenders. New offense for our Qb to learn.

It might not be that dire or might not have been that dire but we don't know, either. The assumption is that it would have been magically better without Rivera and Co. but we honestly don't know if that would be or WILL be the case.

Ultimately moving on to me is about the realization that Rivera just can't get it done anymore. Before the "Riverboat" transition, he was well on his way to getting fired anyway. That SB run bought him enough time and I think it has been enough time. Moving on will make sense with or without Cam.
