2020 HC Candidates

Agreed. Look at all the resources they have throw at the team and they are not dominating. That latest trend of young 'offense mastermind' with no HC experience seems like a fad.

NFL is a copycat league. Teams will find ways to stop whatever in a matter of time. I rather have a defensive minded guy like Saleh and then find a young offensive genius

Always thought he was a very good OC play caller during his Mark Sanchez days with NY and Rex Ryan.

Campbell is technically a retread though not really since his first job was as an interim head coach for twelve games.

Any thoughts on Greg Roman? Seems to be doing wonders with Lamar Jackson in Baltimore and might do well here IF the Panthers can somehow retain Cam. He and Vic Fangio (I don’t see him lasting in Denver beyond this year) would be a great coaching tandem and both have history with this organization. And Fangio is a great DC but a below average HC.

if Ron wins 10 games with Kyle Allen....I think Ron/Cam/Hurney get a farewell season in 2020.   I probably feel that way w/ 9 too.

but whenever the time comes I want no part of the Belichick coaching tree.

Tepper better take those balls off his desk if that happens.

Really doesn’t take much to be a Ron Rivera. The new HC just need to miss the playoff and win 7-9 games. He’d be just as good.

How many first and second year coaches right now are posting that kind of record?

Go ahead, look it up, I'll wait.

And... thanks for playing. I appreciate your enthusiasm but I'm going to have to mark you down as missing the boat.

Roman actually has a history here. He was with the Panthers during some of their early years.

That was under Richardson, of course. He has no connection to Tepper that I know of.

Career-wise, he's kind of been up and down. I'd certainly give him an interview though. I would have done that during one of our previous coaching searches.

Probably also worth pointing out that we're not judging Ron Rivera strictly on this season.

We have several others to go by, and the results overall aren't so good.

And by all accounts Rivera is a good guy. Even had the pleasure of meeting him briefly when he was first hired. Nice dude and easy to see why guys play for him. But I just think we’ve gone as far as we can go with him and we need a change to be consistent winners.

Yeah, I've said before that's what makes it tough.

By all accounts he's one of the nicest people you could ever meet. His wife is great too.

That's one of the things that's always sucked about the real world. The good guys don't always win.
