QB Rankings by EPA/play and Passing Grade

I find it interesting that Kyle Allen, Josh Allen and Sam Darnold all train together in the off-season with Jordan Palmer and all 3 are towards the bottom of this metric and a number of others.

Maybe its time to find a new trainer?

Humm this last lost must have slapped sopme sense into the ole huddle faithful. I didnt see hardly this many people dout the great baby goat before last weeks loss. Never thought allen was the answer. Norvs scheme is making him look better than he is along with cmc. Good starters are amazingly hard to find. look how long its been since the dolphins have had one. and even the browns... Getting rid of cam was the dumbest media idea ever...

The reporting on the fact Cam is unlikely to start for the Panthers again has zero to do with Kyle Allen.  Several of those media sources have made it clear it doesn't have to do with Allen at all, and instead, it has to do completely with Cam.  There is tons of speculation surrounding this, but none of the legitimate posters here, nor the bigger media figures reporting Cam is done with the Panthers, are doing so based on Kyle Allen at all.

Allen is literally just doing his job. He’s been asked to come in to help salvage an 0-2 season. He had one career start, and he performed well. He’s won five games as a starter in 2019, lost two on the road to two of the best teams in the league. He’s made mistakes, and he’s made some good plays. I would say he has been a very average quarterback. But I’m not disappointed in him. I’m not going to discredit his contributions. It feels very counterproductive.  There are many folks just waiting to pounce on Kyle Allen at every turn, so there’s a lot of redemption when he makes a bad play. Anything he does positively or negatively has nothing to do with folks on Twitter. Nobody “called it”. If he was as good as some people claim, he would’ve been drafted. If he’s as awful as some people claim, there’s no way this team could’ve won five games with him at quarterback. I’m pulling for the guy, because if he does well, the team does well. That’s the general idea, right?

If you just talk to people in the stands at the game, people just want to win. It’s when you dive into the depths of Twitter you find the emotionally-charged irrational takes. There is a formula Carolina must follow, and we’ve talked about it over and over: establish the run early, get an early lead, and unload your pass rushers. That actually happened on Sunday, but Green Bay dedicated themselves to the running game and Carolina had absolutely no answers. Teams are just running right up the middle with impunity. This has as much to do with losing as anything. It would make it no more acceptable if Cam was the quarterback. It would be putting your franchise quarterback in a horrible spot, over and over. The run defense has been trash.

Thats not exactly what I have been seeing. The Allen is winning and cam cost to much and cant stay healthy the panther can save if the CUT cam and so on. I havent seen anything that indicates Cam is ready to move on and From what he said it seems the opposite. He was at the game supporting and helping kyle that isnt something u probably do for someone fighting to take your job or a place you dont want to be. If he isnt here next year its basically on Tepper...

I don't know what serious reporters think Allen is "winning" Cams job.  If you look at some of the recent reports they talk about Tepper being unconvinced Cam was worth a new contract *this past* offseason.  Now I dont think that means he was planning anything, but if true, it suggests those concern are unrelated to Allen.  Which makes more sense given... well, I love Allen for what he is, but if you think Cam can ever come back 100%, you would never want to part with him no matter how good your backup is.

That isn't completely accurate. The Golden Calf of Bristol won games. Chad Pennington won games. Kap won games. Wins and losses as a QB stat are stupid. Jimmy G is winning at a crazy clip but nothing about him screams elite.
