The way I see it is when you compare all of the 2nd year QBs not named Lamar Jackson (Josh Allen, Josh Rosen, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Mason Rudolph), Kyle is right in the mix with them. And those are first round draft picks. Good job Hurney lol.

which is why keeping Cam is the right move next year. it's goddamn impossible to find a quarterback in this league. every year there's these shiny new first round quarterbacks that look great on paper, get into the league and suck ass, and are forgotten by year 3. happens over and over and over.

Makes sense. If our UDFA is playing on the level of their first round picks then why use valuable draft assets to develop a QB for a team in "win-now mode"? That's becoming an issue in Chicago where you have a championship roster with a developing QB. Guess it depends on whether Tepper thinks we are a "win-now" team or we need to go through a minor rebuild.

Ok for some perspective.  You only started going to gym and in week 1 can just lift 100 lbs, then week 7 your trainer asks you to lift 200 lbs and you can barely move the bar.  You get stronger week to week.

Well it’s a skill.  Is Allen getting better or worse? Everyone in the league will say he is getting better, everyone who isn’t biased.

Allen still needs development, point blank period.

like I’ve been stating all along I don’t see the glimmer everyone else sees in Kyle as a franchise guy, but there’s potential that can be developed into a capable starter.

we know what we have in a healthy cam, so that would be priority one for me, getting a healthy cam back.

regardless if we move on from cam, I’m not too excited for what comes after, which is either the Kyle Allen era, The unknown will Grier era, or the trade valuable resources to move up and draft a qb in a time where the success rate is fairly low.

Most rookie quarterbacks, even first round, even first overall, don't make it in this league. It's very difficult to find a quarterback.

Which is why it saddens me that the Panthers appear to be heading toward a jettisoning of Cam. People look at Kap and say, “wait...he’s an NFL caliber QB” when that hasn’t been true for years, if ever. Cam was still a damn good QB just over a year ago and yet he appears to be as good as gone from Carolina. I fear we will look back and say, “what the hell were we doing hitching our QB wagon to someone other than Cam when he still has gas in the tank?”

I don’t understand the continuous shock factor here? So this data point represents a very below average performance. He’s an undrafted free agent. He was thrown into the lineup in a pinch. He certainly hasn’t totally crapped the bed, that’s for sure. He’s made some positive contributions, and he has shown some terrible decision making. He has a relatively high floor, and a relatively low ceiling. The reason the team has sustained: McCaffrey. Building leads. Attacking with multiple fronts. Creating turnovers.

I know I’ve certainly never said: “hey, put the ball in Kyle’s hands and he will go win it for you by himself.” I’m still trying to figure out if anyone w/ credibility has even said that.
