Kyle Allen's game is improving.

I am not taking for granted a single thing this offseason. I think it is going to be a huge rebuild.

I know CMC will be here.

That sums up everything I know.

One thing I hate about rebuilds is the way perfectly good players tend to get thrown out with the bathwater. If you're not rebuilding, is there any reason on dog's green earth that Kyle Allen isn't considered at bare minimum an outstanding backup qb that you can have on your team for peanuts?

If it's true it's a no brainer to keep a player under non rebuild circumstances, why does this suddenly change during a rebuild? IMO a large portion of what needs to change about this team concerns the people running the show. I think there is a good deal of talent on the field, it's just not being used properly imo. Some players should go, but I'm not in favor of stripping to the bone.

We have about 7 1st round picks on defense and are so up and down even with RR calling plays.

A REBUILD IS WELCOME!

Allen has grown. But still making some rookie mistakes.  I think has earned the right to at least compete for a starting job.

Even if Allen improves, the run defense is a sieve. Unless the Panthers have a 2+ score lead they probably won’t win any other type of game this season.

and the problem there is the minute we get a 2 score lead "Riverboat" goes into his shell and plays ultra conservative which almost invariably lets teams back in the game even teams that have no business getting back in.

If he can just improve his arm strength and hit a deep ball, the kid can be special.

He Really impressed me with his pocket awareness yesterday.  There were some sacks,  but many of those were before he even completed his drop backs.

Him sensing the pressure and spinning or slipping out multiple times yesterday was awesome.

He just needs to get stronger

I can deal with some mistakes but a young guy.
But Ron has worn out his welcome in my book.

This in particular is an area where the game reps he's gotten this year seem to be leading towards marked improvement.

Besides the fumbles which should be correctable, I have serious concerns about his arm strength.  Yes, he shows good accuracy and touch on the ball for short and intermediate throws, but he is consistently under throwing open receivers who are not tall enough to be doing jump balls.  In the NFL you sometimes have to zip a ball downfield and I have doubts about his physical abilities to do that. That’s not something you can teach.

I think his arm is strong enough. Dude has been throwing out routes all season long and placing them on point. Those are some of the hardest throws for a QB to make and he's made them multiple times to multiple receivers all season long.

I like Kyle.  Marginal backups don't drive their team 90 yards in the snow to give them a chance to win.

I do have some concerns over his arm strength and I'd like to see him spend an offseason working on it.  But he has that thing that you can't coach . . . that "it" factor.  If he continues to improve his game, he will have a very good NFL career.

He looked good yesterday. Still tried to push a little too much and force that int and almost another on the last drive, but he also made a bunch of big time throws. That sideline throw to Olsen on the last drive comes to mind.

We really have got to fix our O-Line. We’ve been terrible since Oher left and Cam was able to mask it due to his scrambling ability.

Also, where TF is Ian Thomas? I see he liked that post but I don’t think I’ve heard his name since week 1.

I didn’t say he can’t make the out routes, we’re talking about hitting receivers downfield in stride instead of throwing jump balls
