Has the defense pretty much looked the same for 9 seasons?

Great at times. Huge lapses in tackling at the worst moments. Tendency to disappear for entire drives after looking great just moments before?

I don't remember the run defense ever being this bad.

Rivera taking over the playcalling was supposed to change things. Doesn't look like it's working out.

Defense has been steadily trending downward the last 3 seasons. Add in the debacle last year of Rivera handing the keys to Washington which ended in utter failure on top of interviewing exactly ZERO outside candidates for the offensive and defensive coordinator positions, and is it any wonder we are so Jekyll and Hyde defensively week to week now?

Our defense has aged, it's slow, no energy and playing very lethargic and it has regressed more this year then it did the 2nd half of last season!

Basically Ron is the common denominator. The defense has performed like that his entire tenure, one week they're dominating the opposing offense and the next week they're getting torched up and down the field.

9 seasons is a stretch. There have been plenty of good to great defenses.

I've noticed Luke getting blocked at the second level a lot more.

I also think Shaq has mediocre football insticnts.

I think both of these could be solved by a good NT.

Scheme is definitely the same but a lot.of coordinatiors run the same scheme, they either modify it or don't.

Ron has modified, and our pass rush is hitting.

Just our run defense is terrible
