Kyle Allen Has Shown Enough

I believe Newton would have folded during that last drive with the piss poor Oline. This is where Allen is head and shoulders above Cam, he has the mental makeup you want from a franchise QB. He is far from perfect, but he's 23 and Cam is not coming back.

LOL!

He is without a doubt our future and worth developing into a franchise QB.

He went in Lambeu and played relatively mistake free football (INT in endzone I can live with) and gave us a chance to win. There aren't many QBs that go 90 yards in 2 minutes, in the snow, on the road like that. Not to mention with a LT that looked like he was on skates.

I'm pretty sure this game just cemented a $20m a year contract for him, I just don't know if it will be from us, or another team.

I have not felt this positive about a loss since Cam divisional playoff loss. You could literally see us turning the corner that game.

A really good backup QB...

Kyle has done a great job for us this season.  He’s got some areas to improve upon but who doesn’t?

excited to see how he handles the rest of the season.

What's really stupid is people coming in after every game and declaring that he's the future franchise quarterback or he's the worst quarterback in history.

What he actually is is a young guy who has shown that he can play in the league and is improving. The comparisons to Delhomme are pretty accurate. I remember what Jake looked like in his first season with us, and he had several years of NFL experience at the time.

What he's earned so far is a continued look. There's still a lot of time left and a lot to learn before we make our plans for next year.

Well said.  Thanks for being rational.

Until Cam is traded the Nut huggers will never move to a new team and will continue to trash Allen and hope for his losses. Fact is he's shown he can outperform  2018-19 Newton and Tepper knows that.

LOL! "He can out perform an injured MVP!"

Allen competed for 60 minutes.  He made some big mistakes and was 6 inches short from atoning from them. He made it a game. That drive was gutsy, the kind of drives Cam made in his prime I was impressed with his resolve and calm in that snowstorm. An Arizona guy in the tundra.  A good effort although a bad result. Mistakes and turnovers. Hardly a recipe for success

And was hanging in there getting popped, moving around trying to give his WRs time, and getting rid of the ball in desperate situations rather than taking a sack. Gutsy performance.

Are you capable of making a post without littering "nut huggers" all over the place?

Someone needs to tell you. If you're a grown ass man and those two words are in your regular vocabulary, you need to stop wearing tighty whities and grow up.

I could not agree more.

Allen has potential. I can see why people are reacting with skepticism to anyone pumping him, and not everyone doing that is on the Cam Newton is great or riding the agenda train that says if you don't love him.... well we know what the rest of that is.

He does make throws. He could be league average or better which isn't bad. I don't see him as ever being much more than that. If we could protect him we could win more games than we will end up winning.

Something that stood out to me was the play clock. Almost always at 5 seconds when the ball was snapped.

Unrelated: I probably blocked it out, but I can't remember us ever fielding a worse run defense. That is gonna cost us a lot more than a guy who is essentially a rookie undrafted QB.
