Cam had games end just like that on a bad shoulder last season.

And he was murdered for it.

Redskins

Lions

Browns

etc.

Will Kyle Allen? Or will you just show your own bias?

I don't want to give Kyle a pass, because I was ripping into him yesterday and I do feel he was directly responsible for the loss, but at this stage of his career you're a fool not to expect these things.

We expect more out of Cam Newton as a seasoned veteran with his resume.  Plain and simple.  It's justified too.

What would you be saying if Cam made this throw with the game on the line?

I'd say that's a terrible play, he's a 9 year vet and should know better.

If it were Cam's rookie year I'd say "Damn, hopefully he learns from that one and doesn't do it again".

You've gotta give some grace with younger players.

Like Daley missing some blocks and giving up sacks or Burns getting jobbed and being taken out of a play.

So is he’s a “better player” and a “MVP” only when it’s time to criticize him?

No, he's always the better player? I'm not sure the angle you're taking here with me because I've felt Cam should be QB1 until he's no longer on the team. But go off

He has before.  I was at the Seattle game in  2012 and this was perfect weather mind you...4th  down game on the line and he skipped a pass in the endzone to a wide open  man (can't remember who) but man that was a gotta excute it or at least give him a chance pass........ now I'm not weighing in on the topic at hand.....just wanted to point this out.

The thing is tho Cam got destroyed for it meanwhile for Allen it is viewed a good step forward and that he should be the future for it

Then can you explain why I can’t give him starter standards when people believe he should be the starter for the future?

I'm going to type this and I want you to read it slowly.

Kyle Allen is the backup and only playing because the starter, Cam Newton, is injured. The expectations for Allen are lower because A) He's not as good as Cam, B) He's not as good as Cam, and C) He's not as good as Cam.

If you take Aaron Rodgers out of the game for Green Bay and in his place is an undrafted free agent who's played in 8 games, I'm not going to expect the same performance. This isn't a difficult concept to understand. You're conflating people who think Kyle Allen is better and should be the starter with my take, which is Allen is the backup and should be viewed as such.

Could Kyle Allen be the starter here one day? Maybe. But until then, he's the backup and doing what's asked of him in the absence of Cam.
