Joey Slye is tied for 26th in FG percentage this year

Not fair--

A kicker with a strong leg gets asked to boot 60 yarders while other kickers do not.  I have always thought that the best way to gauge this is by looking at the extra points only and the percentage of kicks above 50 yards--that would test accuracy and distance.

Teams with weak kickers either go for it or punt if it means trying a 58 yard FG.  Some coaches play field position more than others.  If a player like Daryl Williams, for example, falls on his arse and the kick is blocked, it counts against the kicker.

Imagine a formula where the extra point attempts from 35 are calculated.  Even that is not fair, considering domes and weather etc, but at least the distance is consistent.  Let's say the number is 97%.  Then have a power accuracy formula, where all kicks over 50 yards are calculated.  Like QB ratings.

I believe he also leads the league in touch-back %(or right at the top).

Gano is much like bradberry was, he just has a group of people that heavily dis-like him for what-ever bad reasoning they choose to believe.  There is an league wide shortage of good kickers currently, just like QB deal..... Panthers have two good options and teams will be calling.
