He's 15/21 for a percentage of 71%. 20/22 on extra points.

Gano, the guy that was getting death threats the past few years, was 14/16 on field goals last year for a percentage of 88% and 13th in the league.

Remind me why we all hate Gano yet worship Slye again?

EDIT: Slye has missed twice as many field goals this year as Gano missed in 2017 and 2018...combined.

I don't think anyone worships him.  People hate Gano because that's what internet people do.

Gano has missed game winning/critical kicks in the regular season and playoffs and it has costed us. So far this season all three of our losses would have been Ls with or without him.

It’s not just you. Saw a stat that we are at a record for most missed kicks through week 9 in NFL history with something like 121 and the old record was around 100.

Slye is cheaper, and none of his misses have cost us a game .... yet.

It’s been discussed.

Slye is a rookie, isn’t paid to be a top 5 kicker with bottom half stats, and is attempting kicks we for seasons avoided with Gano. Gano is a seasoned vet and was over paid. 

I think everyone just has lower expectations for Slye vs. thinking he has the long term solution. He has the leg power which you can’t teach. The things he needs to work on he will.

The real tragedy is Butker. Rivera seems to favor Gano to a fault but wouldn’t ever attempt 35-45 year sets with him.

Definitely. So it should stick out that Slye is just 26th despite kickers being worse than ever.

Over the last few years actually.

A while back, the NFL decided they wanted to make extra points harder. They appear to have succeeded

Slye also has the most attempts of 40+ this year AND 50+ attempts compared to others in the NFL right now. He is 5/8 on the 40+ with a few blocks but he has attempted 7 50+ kicks this year while the league avg for 50+ right now is 3 attempts.
