In the end, I'm just saying folks ought to take a moment to enjoy the season and cheer for a team that is punching its way out of the corner. It's like a group of people that would walk out on the movie Rocky at the halfway mark saying the dude's just a punch drunk loser.

We're coming up on the real teeth of our schedule. If we can win against some of the better teams, then I'll take it more seriously.

Sometimes the mark of a good team is winning games we should win as much as it is beating teams with superior talent. If we can beat teams like the Saints or Seattle at home we could slide into the playoffs as a wildcard. It isn't likely we can expect Allen to go into Green Bay or the Superdome and win on the road. I am hopeful but don't expect it.

But wrong? Yes, your opinion as to something I may have been implying is 100% wrong.  All I was doing was pointing out the elephant in the room.

And that elephant is how Cam Newton has been mistreated and disrespected by a large part of this fanbase since the day he was drafted.

Now is Khyber a member of that large part of the Carolina fanbase I just mentioned?  No, I don’t think he is.

Has Khyber been sitting right next to that elephant since 2011 pretending that it isn’t there? That it doesn’t exist? And that it isn’t there to this very day?  Yes... yes, he has.

The only way you can remove this particular real world “issue” from any conversation even tangentially related to Cam Newton is if you want a DISHONEST discussion. 

What you are implying is that the only reason someone cant like Cam is because they are racist. That just isn't the case. There may be some who have/do, and there is no justification for that.

There are also some who find him to be a very polarizing figure. He can rub people the wrong way. He doesn't fit into anyone else's mold, and while it's great that he has such confidence, it can come across as arrogant or conceited. 

I've said before that living outside of the Carolinas, I get a different perspective on the Panthers, especially Cam. And the overall consensus is, hes cocky, arrogant, and cares more about celebrating his personal success than being part of a team. I'm not saying that's how he is, I'm saying that's perception. People are tired of his antics.

IMO, as a result, he has faced "targetting" from the league for his behaviour. Bad perception is bad for the bottom line, and the NFL is a business that cares about money first and foremost.

The team is 5-3, addressed a big issue with the pass rush, has an MVP type player and has dealt with a crazy amount of injuries.  To say we would be relevant with, for the most part, no Cam Newton this year would have sounded crazy in the preseason.  We did not even know that Kyle would even beat out Grier for the backup position.  Gotta respect what the team is doing right now.

lost his best offensive lineman for multiple games and has shuffled the OL for weeks

 

and we are 5-3.  It is a well coached team.

It's actually fuging amazing considering the circumstances.

I've had my issues with Rivera, and I am very skeptical of the offensive play calling, but I think that barking up that tree as opposed to the one that says "We've been surprisingly competitive notwithstanding losing our franchise QB," is selling wolf tickets.

But I never said for a single second that (as you put it) "the only reason someone cant like Cam is because they are racist".
