Don McNabb

He's bulked up far too much. When he came into the league he was much more lithe and as a result was a dangerous runner. Sure he couldn't take a game over ala Vick, but he could get you a few first downs a game with his feet which is a very valuable asset and is something the D has to account for.

Yeah he's alot bigger now, but I think he did that to sustain all the hits he takes playing QB in the NFC East. McNabb doesnt run as much as he did when he was younger, but he runs enough, and he's always been more of a dual threat than just a scramber.

Did you watch the game.

McNabb could not put the ball in the end zone, they settled for FG's and the rest is history.

The Chargers let him dink and dunk all day long because they knew that he was not going to be able to put the ball in the end zone, and certainly not on a quick strike. They played him very well. All people look at are the numbers...but not the game itself.

McNabb was efficient, but that's it. That's usually enough to win, but not against SD, in their house.

Yep. The way Rivers is playing, you best be scoring touchdowns in the redzone vs SD.

Not sure that McNabb's deep ball accuracy is good enough for him to really excel in other offenses. JMO.

I know I'm late here but I think this is dead wrong. McNabb's accuracy sucks on those short passes, not leading WRs, throwing at their feet, over their heads, etc. His deep ball is one of the best in the league.

I cannot wait for the day McNabb is out of Philadelphia and he is tearing the league up in some other offense.

Think that will happen next year I hope he gets his chance before it is too late and his skills are diminished. I would love to see how it turns out. I don't want him gone necessarily, I just think it would be good for him and be ok for the Eagles...gonna happen sooner or later anyway.

and yes KT, that was a good performance by Mcnabb last night. I am back on his bandwagon.....check back after next week though. :)

Rockets who was the Eagles starting QB prior to McNabb?

I swear man I dont understand yall Eagles fans. Saints fans swear Drew Brees is god although he's only had 1 playoff run with them and aint never been to a Super Bowl. Chargers fans defend Rivers tooth & nail even when he loses in the playoffs. Falcons fans still believe in Matty Ice despite his slump. Bengals fans dont sit around waiting for Palmer to fug up. Hell even Panther fans stood behind Jake despite his shortcomings for years. I just dont understand the half hearted support behind McNabb. Why doesnt the best QB your franchise has ever had get that undying love that those other less accomplished QBs get?

Because he sucks when it counts most.

Because it's Philadelphia. They boo Santa Claus and Mike Schmidt.

Nothing personal.

ahh..the racial martyr.

McNabb plays is one of the if not the most fickle and hyper critical fan base in all of pro sports. Philly.

KT. Name me a white qb who is universally loved by his home town fan base. I mean NO critical phone calls to radio talk shows. No negative articles in the local rag etc.

These kind of arguments remind me of bad marital relationships. Lot's of absolutes and false expectations.

Example. Wife says husband never takes her out to eat. Reality is husband does but wife is speaking and thinking in absolutes.

Husband would like his wife to treat him a particular way but NEVER tells her. So by doing so he puts her in a spot to NEVER win with him and he is perpetually disappointed.

Same goes here.

People will say McNabb is treated unfairly. Ok, how are you going to measure that? Is it by call in shows? Newspaper articles? Lack of Pro Bowls? Endorsements?

What is the % necessary for it to be truly legit?

Does McNabb get ragged for things? Yep. Is he the only qb that gets that? No.

But McNabb supporters have convinced themselves otherwise.

They want so badly for their guy to be maligned so they can have thier created foil much like the bad detective in The Hurricane. Awesome movie. Even more awesome story. But the detective(white in the film btw) was ginned up for Hollywood as well as to create an antagonist. Bottom line it was sexier than just no foil.

I grew up a Cowboy fan. I don't like McNabb the PLAYER. Not the person. In fact, even if a guy from my hometown or high school/college played for the Eagles I would even have a hard time pulling for him because of the bad blood.

Thats not true. He stuck it to Rush Limbaugh TWICE (helped lead to his firing from ESPN and the denial of ownership bid). When it comes to him, McNabb is money. :cheers2:

Does that translate into points?

If not, it doesn`t matter to Eagles fans.

If you saved the whales, stopped global warming and cured cancer on Friday but played badly on Sunday, Eagle fans would boo you.
