Not saying it's the most likely scenario, but since it appears quite possible there are things going on behind closed doors we're not aware of, just saying he could be on the outs with the organization or specific people in it and fed up. When people become emotional they aren't always rational, and the quality of his supporting cast wouldn't necessarily factor into his thinking in such a scenario. Either way, let me be clear, that sort of thing is something I regard as possible but not likely.

I think if you held a gun to my head right now and demanded I guess what the story is, it's that Cam wants to come back, but Tepper isn't making any promises and wants to see what the team can do with Allen as the qb or at least wants Cam to sit out the rest of the season to fully heal whether he likes it or not. This is my best guess based on the information I have in hand, but it's still just a guess, I don't know anything more than anybody else here. I guess we'll see.

I think you are right that until we see what happens with Allen this year, there is really nothing to decide until we also see how Cam's rehab is going. Until then this is all speculation.

@mjligon pointed this out in another thread and it made a helluva lot of sense to me. Cam went to Green Bay on his own dime to get a second opinion on his foot. None of us is inside Cam's head or close personal friends with him (at least I don't think so) but he pointed out that that action does not suggest someone thinking about walking away from the game, it suggests someone doing everything he can to get back on the field.

Not saying that walking away for a player with Cam's injury history, age and already banked earnings wouldn't be a perfectly reasonable course of action, but this one piece of circumstantial evidence seems to argue pretty strongly against the idea.

Not saying I think he’s going to retire but I don’t see what him going to GB for an opinion on his foot has anything to do with it one way or another. Even if he were to retire, he’d want his foot as healthy as possible for every day life and playing with his kids, etc. so he’d want to go to the best foot specialist to deal with it.

Ehhh. maybe I guess? Perhaps I'm guilty of thinking that as a normal non millionaire who doesn't have all the time in the world cause he's out sick from his job, I wouldn't hop on a plane to Green Bay just to see a doctor for everyday medical treatment, but then again I'm not Cam and so maybe as you say he could be doing it for that reason.

I guess with a lot of this stuff I'm always kind of mystified how most people on a message board seems so cocksure of things with little to no concrete evidence or information. My gut says he probably wants back in, but I don't have any reason to think my gut knows any better than anyone else's.

Not true. Eli's dad said he wouldn't play for the Chargers before the draft and the Chargers who actually liked Rivers drafted him anyway to.prove they weren't going to be bullied by a draftee or his father. He was a Charger long enough for the Chargers to swap Eli for Phillip or the first draft pick with the 4th.

Answer the question. What established quarterback in the league has successfully gotten a release by threatening to hold out?

Do you even comprehend what an absolute asshole you come across as with virtually every post you make?

I get it, we can all get a little snarky every now and then but you take the cake.

I'm not an NFL historian and I'm not going digging. Sorry you didn't like my other examples. Now kindly go fug yourself.

But if you were a retired hundred millionaire and had a serious foot injury that could affect you the rest of your life if not treated the best possible way (pain, discomfort, etc.), would you seek the best treatment?

The whole thing hinges on the 6" between Cam's ears.

Foot will be fine, shoulder will be serviceable....

....if Cam can get the noggin screwed on straight by the cut/trade deadline there is 0% chance he will be anywhere other than the CLT going into 202 NFL training camp.

Write it down folks.

Yeah probably. Lol, my boss would probably yell at me if he saw that other post because I'm in sales and we're constantly trained that "Don't assume your customer thinks the way you think."

I wouldn't fly to Green Bay for medical treatment, but when you put it that way, sure I could totally see why Cam might.

Don't know why you are being a douche bag because your post was wrong. Just admit no one has and move on. You don't have to be jerk just because you don't know something or don't have an answer. Hell you are wrong all the time, why so pissy now.

Sure. I'm wrong occasionally. At least one of us is man enough to actually admit that.

I don't care if the specific scenario has happened or not. It's absolutely a viable possibility. My initial premise wasn't based on any precedents.

People act like you because the penalty for punching people in the face in our society is far too high.

That right there is so true.  Some people need a punch right in the noggin and there should be no penalty for it.
