If Cam Newton is not on the roster in 2020, would you still be a Panthers fan?

Haven't noticed how much emptier the stadium looks this season, huh? Ah to be young and naive again.

Not totally Cam. We are only 2-2 at home this year and lost all of our home games the second half of the season last year. It has been tough being a Panther fan at BOA in the past 12 months. That wears on the fan base. If we beat Green Bay on the road and Atlanta at home,  watch interest increase. It is about winning not Cam. The thinking has been we can't win without Cam. Allen hasn't convinced everyone that he can lead us to wins despite a 5-1 record as QB this year.

Yes.  More-so, perhaps, but not because I dislike Cam.  I truly, genuinely love the guy, the way he played, and his personality... but he's finished.  Them moving on would signify to me that the Panthers are taking winning consistently SERIOUSLY, and are done holding on to and overpaying washed up vets.

Cam has one of the most beautiful deep throws on this planet. You guys are ungrateful and don't deserve good things.

" I'm getting rid of the Porsche guys, I think this 370Z is better."......uh OK.

That was 2015. Not anymore. The NFL is about the now not the distant past.

It is no secret the Panthers fan base has seen a large number of new fans over the last decade that are strictly fans of the team because of Cam Newton. With Cam Newton going on IR, and the possibility of his time with the Panthers coming to an end, this fact has been brought into the spotlight.

So be honest. Straight up, if Cam Newton is not on the Panthers roster in 2020, would you still a Panthers fan?

Of course I would still be a fan, just massively disappointed. We took the man for granted and didn't surround him with the talent and staff we needed to until it was too late.

The cam only fans don’t come to a panthers forum to post. Those people are few and far between.

I’d agree me with the first part.

There is literally 4 people in my office of 40 (only about 12 panther fans) who are Cam fans only and never followed the Panthers before. Now they have Panther and Cam poo all over their office. They claim they have to support their ‘Black QB’. Their words.

thats roughly 30% but I’d imagine it’s much higher and they are everywhere, hell when the fug did wal mart start selling cam/auburn gear? Lol yea totally Panthers related

Avg home attendance numbers:

2019: 72102

2018: 73772

2017: 73617

2016: 73792

2015: 74096

We're averaging 97% of attendance from our superbowl run. Obviously due to our sweet 7 game loss streak.

What a stupid post.

PSLs inflate the number. You haven’t watched a game or seen the sparse crowds? Ownership has.

I've watched every single game this year and the attendance doesnt seem much lower than any other time.  All the seats seem to be filled up from what I can see.  I think this attendance thing is getting overblown tremendously.

Sure but depending on how his departure is I’ll be a fan from a distance until I figure out what the plan is going forward, if another 2010 occurs I’ll just watch from a distance until they get there poo together.

i won’t fully support a losing product, especially if it’s because of mismanagement

It's not. Here's a quote from Jourdan Rodrigue with the Athletic speaking on the subject.

Quote

I think the sparse crowds are absolutely something to look at here - and a concern, too, for a new owner who needs to make his business more profitable to turn it into a true international brand and get the city to fork over the cash he wants for projects. Does that also include re-evaluating the fan experience and prices? Yep. Does it also help to have a transcendent player like Cam, who so many have drawn inspiration from? Also yep.

Guess it's not just me who notices.
