If Cam Newton is not on the roster in 2020, would you still be a Panthers fan?

of course i will. i wont have the same enjoyment watching though. this is the first year ive lived in NC since 2001. ive been to every home game this year and went to the Arizona game in September. even with the wins and watching McCaffrey put together this historic run hes on, the excitement just isnt the same. im sure even with the win last night, the excitement wasnt the same for dook fans as it was watching Zion play last year. Cam just brought a different level of entertainment to the game

Most of us were fans before Cam, through thick and thin, and will be forever.  Just because we are angry or disappointed does not mean we stop being fans.  I have been a fan since 1996 and nothing can change that as long as it’s the Carolina Panthers.

Those people apparently buy a lot of tickets to the games because the stadium crowds have been sparse this season.

Avg home attendance numbers:

2019: 72102

2018: 73772

2017: 73617

2016: 73792

2015: 74096

We're averaging 97% of attendance from our superbowl run. Obviously due to our sweet 7 game loss streak.

What a stupid post.

Im an international fan and I've never been to a home game.

The vikings are the 'local' team around here so the only way for me to watch the Panthers means I have to buy game pass. So I'll be a fan regardless where they play and despite who is on the team.

If that's true then the crowds should have rebounded as the team has started to win again, right? Haven't seen that yet.

You mean after they were blown out in SF?

And the first home game in a month. If the crowds stay sparse going forward even if the team is winning, that would lend credence to the notion poor attendance is about Cam imo. If the team isn’t winning it becomes impossible to say.

It is no secret the Panthers fan base has seen a large number of new fans over the last decade that are strictly fans of the team because of Cam Newton. With Cam Newton going on IR, and the possibility of his time with the Panthers coming to an end, this fact has been brought into the spotlight.

So be honest. Straight up, if Cam Newton is not on the Panthers roster in 2020, would you still a Panthers fan?

Uh, yes. I was a Panthers fan prior to Cam and I will be a fan long after he’s gone.

Cam has one of the most beautiful deep throws on this planet. You guys are ungrateful and don't deserve good things.

" I'm getting rid of the Porsche guys, I think this 370Z is better."......uh OK.

No he doesnt. He had a strong arm but thats not true at all.

The opener vs the Rams with Newton was abysmal attendance. The Tampa game week 2 as well was sparse.

Do you watch the games?

Example: I personally bought a shitty auction Porsche for $2800. The interior was dirty as heck, nasty, smelly. The last owners ran her hard, abused her. Checked the oil and it was black, hadn't been changed in ages. They obviously didn't care about the beautiful piece of engineering they owned. It's death by a thousand cuts getting her put back together again 70% there but she will command top value and always be worth more than a 370Z and at her age will still give such cars heaps of trouble. It was broken down but it's still a Porsche. That was Drew Brees and this is Cam Newton.
