If the Panther's let Cam Newton go

I don’t consider them a bad team, but aside one offensive drive, the Panthers won in spite of Kyle’s fumbles and non-productivity. It’s not a slam on Kyle, but the defense held a top 10 offense to 10 points that Sunday. Trying to spin that otherwise is just.. silly.

Kyle had a game clinching drive in that game too where he made 2 great throws against a very good defense

Lol, you already know the answer. A good road win against a potential playoff team doesn’t work as well for the narrative.

A “good” road win? Panthers’ defense and CMAC won in spite of Kyle Allen’s fumbles and overall lack of productivity. Not a slam on Kyle as I’m typically expecting him to have statlines of 24/34 for 230 yards as his norm, games like the Cardinals where he performed spectacularly are clearly outliers and not the norm of what he brings. But I have a Cam avatar, so of course it’s safe to assume I have a “narrative” :eyeroll:

Nice. But if you’re attempting to credit him for that victory over the defense that held a top 10 offense to only 10 points? Yeah, that’s a big no for me.

Its ok if you dont want to give kyle any kudos for wins. Panthers went 5-1 with nobody at QB. Any QB in the league could have won the same games as he did.  I understand

Does it matter if we're ready or not?

I mean if we're being honest, Newton's all out, never back down, run right through em style of play always made it possible that his career was going to be shorter than it should have been.

I've seen a lot of my favorite players leave this team, with not one of them going out on top or getting the ending that I would have felt like they deserved.

That's the NFL.

Agreed...lots of things still left to happen

but if he is able to play, I just don’t think we would just cut him

and if he can play, some team will give up big to get him....like maybe miami or the skins

I think the issue is trust now.

I honestly think Cam lost the trust of the front office with this current ankle issue.  Think they felt lied too because he injured it the preseason and then try to play it off as good in the beginning of the season.

The other is Tepper is a stock market genius.  Each thing has a certain amount of value.  When that value is less than return you get rid of it.  The past 2 seasons Cams return in invest has been dismal.  What makes you think with those two things the team would want him back.  Specially when they can save 19 million dollars.

He’s the QB, part of the team and he contributed. It’s your narrative that you deliberately left them off to make it look like the 5-1 or 6-1 was all patsies. When you intentionally do something like that you have a narrative. Simple as that. I’m not even a Kyle lover or Cam hater. I’d much rather have two good and healthy QBs and have that problem than have nothing.

What? I left the Texans off because they are a good team, but for as much a “team win” it was, Kyle still turn led the ball over, failed to score, and save for one epic drive at the end was quite ineffective.

He literally had a game manager’s statline against the Texans, which isn’t a knock on him because imho that’s what he currently is.

Exactly. Why can't folks be happy we have Kyle who is really a great surprise and be sad that Cam was just getting back his confidence in his shoulder and a freak foot injury derails a very important year for everyone. Like it not we have to ride with Kyle because that is who we got. So far I am very happy with  the team outside of never stomping their opponent and always having to make plays at the end to win. My heart might not last... So as Panther fans I think we need to be more  a Kyle fan and less a critic. Seems worse on the huddle than it is in the rest of the media. Anyone who said we would be 5-3 after going  0-2 and losing Cam would have been ridiculed as delusional. I am going to ride the train as long as I can. Guys like McCoy and Boston keep me entertained. I remember Clausen and Carr so Allen is pretty great in comparison.

Yep.  Rarely is there a happy end.

But there can be a nice homecoming at some point

I wouldn't abandon the team. I'd be pissed as hell but I'm a Panthers fan. With that being said, I think Cam deserves to come back next year and earn that contract.

I'm pretty sure being pissed as hell is a regular part of being a Panther fan.
