It really is crazy how fast these guys will bail on the other 58 players on this roster, isn’t it?

Oh yes, that's always been the most ironic part of it.  They meltdown and lash out and perceived attacks "on our franchise QB", but by far more than anyone else attack the other players on the team, as well as the coaching staff, front office, and ownership.

What evidence supports your claim we will be in full blown tank mode next year?

I see a potential MVP running behind a very promising and young Oline with two playmaker WRs.

And I see a young set of edge rushers leading the NFL in sacks, with a talented LB core led by an all time great and a quickly emerging Shaq with two very good CBs holding down the outside. They are currently 5-1 in their last 6 games.

So maybe you are just projecting your insecurities on to the team. Because right now they have literally been proving you wrong lol

...This year’s team is made for super bowl contention. Addison, Irvin, Poe, McCoy, Shaq, Bradberry possibly won’t even be here next year. Especially with Cmac’s contract looming. A fugton that has contributed to the 6-1 record likely is gone.

So unless Kyle has a transcendence never before seen in the NFL it’s highly likely we suck next year. Which happens when teams rebuild.

The idea of Cam being gone makes me queasy. I’ve been a fan since Day One and there’s no player I’ve liked more than Cam. I’ll hate it forever, but I’ll remain a Panthers fan despite losing Cam. This completely sucks.

Over the course of 25 years as a Panther fan, I've had a lot of favorite and very well liked players.

I couldn't name a single one of them that left here (voluntarily or involuntarily) feeling like they got everything they wanted out of their Panthers career.

When the time comes, the same will probably be said for a lot of our current players.

Like I said, that's just football.

Fairy tale endings are the exception, not the norm.

Lol you really think Bradberry and Shaq won’t be here next year? Lol

See I caught you with a point and now you are back peddling tour way out of it. If Cam isn’t here then that money 100% brings back Shaq and Bradberry. And you know that

There’s a very real possibility that one of Shaq or James will not be here next year

don’t know whatever else you’re blithering about

Everyone here always talks about wanting to be like the Steelers.

Well this is what the Steelers do, they make tough player decisions. AB, Bell, Wallace and thats just recent history. The team moves on from the player before the game moves on from the player.

Back to the Panthers though, some of you guys are talking like if you do your job the team owes you something extra.. but you are also only talking about the STAR players. There are many depth players that put in arguable more time than the starters at a fraction of their wage just to barely make the 52 roster, then get cut. I dont hear you moaning about them and all the effort they put in.

Lol so your opinion is that even if Cam doesn’t come back, we still likely let one of Bradberry or Shaq walk? And you’re serious?

You aren’t being honest. You know we are better than a bottom feeder next year, it just doesn’t fit your agenda right now. Well that’s on you. Cheers

The 49ers let go of Joe Montana when he could still play. Ditto Jerry Rice.

The Packers moved on from Brett Favre when he still had a few years left.

The Cowboys allowed Emmitt Smith to finish his career playing for the Cardinals.

Even after a miraculous return from injury, the Steelers still wound up parting ways with Rod Woodson.

And of course, Peyton Manning didn't start his career with the Broncos. He just finished it there (much to our chagrin).

It's football.

It happens.

49ers had Steve young

GB had Rodgers

Emmit was a shell of himself and just looking for records

Peyton is close to our situation with the neck surgery thing

No, at the level both James and Shaq are playing this year I doubt 20 mil in extra cap space resigns them both. I didn’t even consider the probability of Olsen hanging it up this year to go into sports broadcasting would leave Kyle devoid of his #2 safety blanket behind CMac.

Believe it or not, the roster next season could look DRASTICALLY different. For better or worse.

37 year old Ben Roethlisberger is the second highest paid QB in the league only behind Russell Wilson.

The position isn't getting any cheaper, and it won't be cheap to retain whoever the next future Panthers QB is. That's the NFL now.

and he is actually healthy and able to play.  I might be done with this team.  And you can check my post history. I am not reactionary or dramatic, and I have been a fan since the days of home games at Clemson.

This staff ran him into the ground, allowed him to play injured, and threw him under the bus whenever they needed a scape goat.

I know you are all going to say, "I am a fan of the team, not one player". I get it, I used to say the same thing, but this move (if he gets healthy) would show that we wouldn't stand by our guy, who literarily gave it his all. Every. Single. Game.  Thomas Davis tore his fuging ACL 3 times and we stayed with him.

We failed him. And then abandon him after two weird injury seasons.  Poo me all you want, but this will have some bad karma,

I'm always gonna be a Panthers fan, but if this is how it plays out, it's gonna take a lot of wind out of my sails...  I am with you on all of your points...  it's on Rivera and his staff, and should've never come to this.

To stand by guys like TD, Kalil, and Olsen as they overcame injuries while contributing less than what Cam has/does, there would be nothing more Panthers than that.  It's inexcusable.  This is a franchise QB, former league MVP, and if they cut ties with the chance of him becoming fully healthy again, what a slap in the face.  This isn't just a team leader or role player, this has been the face of the franchise and a face of the league...  and if they make this move, it will just further prove that Rivera viewed Cam as nothing more than means to an end, and not the talent that he is actually is.  Pisses me off...

If/when Cam plays next year he’s going to be fired up and ready to dominate again. If he’s not here, I hope and pray it’s on a contender because I’m all but certain next season with no Cam on this team is going to tank, led by tank commander Kyle or Will.

Like it has since Kyle took over and went 5-1???
