CMC is great.

Samuel and Moore are good, but Curtis isn't under contract after next season.

Ian is a hope at this point, nothing more.

Burns is good.

Bradberry and Shaq aren't signed next season, Jackson is up and down but is a playmaker.

Are you assuming we won’t bring Samuel, Shaq or Bradberry back. Because it seems extremely unlikely we let the walk. And the Oline? For ‘rebuilding’ we are actually in fantastic shape. We really are

Have you looked at the players that are under contract moving forward?

This team looks to be about ready for a gut job from top to bottom.  I can only see a handful of the old guard sticking around at this point.

The offensive line core (Paradis, Turner, Moton, Daley, Little) are all under contract as well as Moore and Samuel.  And arguably the best non-QB offensive threat in CMC.  The cupboard is not bare there by any stretch.  Plus Armah, Ian Thomas, and Manhertz, who is a much better blocker than I thought he would be.  And Allen, regardless of whether he is the long-term answer at QB, is still a major asset to have.

Defense is more problematic, although we still have Short, Burns, Miller, Luke, Reid, Obada, and Jackson.

And depending on what happens to Cam, a lot of money to spend.

The idea of a "gut-job" is misplaced.  There is going to be a lot of change for next year, but the Panthers have honestly done a much, much better job drafting the last few years which puts us in a much better situation than I thought we were going to be a year or 2 ago.

That being said, QB is by far the most important position on the field, and potentially losing a former MVP is never a wanted thing,

Why was it a blunder? Pretty important to have him this year. Seems his presence is crucial

Stupid to give him an extension, coming off an injury with him still under contract....just a dumb move that will cost us money next year.

Are we really all of a sudden praising this o line?

In another thread I'm posting in people are saying that Cam should want to leave because of our crap O Line, in this one, it's a strength.

Moton and Turner are the only above average O Linemen we have on the roster....maybe the others can pick it up, but this O Line needs help.

This Oline has been opening holes for 70 yard runs all season. Pass protection still needs some work but most these guys are still young and developing.

He hates everything Hurney. Don't mind him. Olsen is playing well, without injury this season.

Doesn't have a thing to do with Olsen playing well or not, this blunder is about next season, not this one.  Try and keep up.

I honestly didn't think Olsen was gonna play past this year anyway.

If Cam was fully healthy and the team looked like it had a real shot at winning a title, I think Greg could have played another season. What I hope we don't see is Greg retire and head to the booth, only to come back and play for a different team next season.

Over the past 3 seasons Greg Olsen has 813 yards receiving, and 7 TD's, while costing us $26.5M in cap space.

Now, I love me some Olsen, and have since he got here, but extending him was a bad idea when it happened, and now it's time for him to ride off into the sunset.
