Likely won't see Cam in a Panthers uni again

I love what Kyle is doing but he's still a young developing QB. Just look at the "Jackson 4", Baker, Darnold, Rosen and J. Allen. They are still struggling and going through growing pains. It can't hurt to have Cam on a prove it deal and give him a shot to earn an extension.

There's not a prove it deal you can do. Either Cam can play again (shoulder AND foot) and we roll on like nothing ever happened with the contract in place and a happy new contract for both parties after that OR Cam isn't healed and won't and we let him go. If Cam has the ability, it's a no brainer he stays. If he isn't able to play then we have a very tearful departure.

Cam isn't the kind of player who with diminishing physical abilities can go and ride herd on a team for two years and coach up a replacement -- his game depends far more on his physical gifts than on precision and form.

And Kyle, a case can be made that if Cam can't go, you roll on with Kyle and keep him active, starting and developing. He has a fair distance before he hits his ceiling. And whatever criticism one can make of him, he is a winning QB and that is frikkin' priceless in the NFL.

From a wins and losses perspective, Cam has not even been better than Jake Delhomme. Jake also had much more post season success.

err it isn't like jake actually won the superbowl.  Neither one of them brought that honor to Charlotte, so at best that is a push IMO.  Cam has done far more in his career overall... and from a wins and losses perspective Cam has 68 wins and Jake had 53.  IMO Jake had better defenses most years than cam has had and undeniably a better line most years (lol even if they were juicing)... Cam has also accounted for legit twice as many TDs and like 15K more total yards lol. there is no comparison.  I love Jake but he is not even close to Cam's league.

Honestly, I kind of hope we get to see Grier play this year. Grier at last is an athlete.

He was TERRIBLE in the preseason, but at least he has some NFL quarterback qualities.

Can't see him seeing the field unless Allen shits the bed...why take the hot hand out?

Who's going to trade for damaged goods?  The smart time to do that was last offseason.

Called this after Kyle won in week 3, btw.  Camstans had their heads buried in the sand until the bitter end.

Correct...the value ship has sailed
