Your standard, average joe run of the mill QB that won’t ruffle any feathers or dance. The one that thIs fanbase has been waiting for?

Hope you're not directing this comment at me, I love Cam and have never said anything bad about him.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess that bchamp10’s point isn’t that Cam can’t sling it 40 yards down field, but that his generally sub par accuracy over the course of his career has meant he is rarely hitting receivers in stride, setting them up for substantial YAC. IMO this has always been one of the biggest weaknesses in his game. He has the ability to give you some highlight real lasers from time to time yes, but he also has consistently been less accurate than the typical franchise Qb,  requiring more adjustment to the throw in the air by his receivers, dampening their YAC potential.

Huh? Cam has had big slow receivers who couldnt get any yac majority of his career here. When he had guys like smitty and tedd ginn they put up numbers.

Not to mention Greg Olsen becoming the only TE in NFL history to post 3 consecutive 1000 yard seasons.

But nah...Cam can’t read a defense or put the ball in a place for the receiver to set up YAC.

It annoys me some posters on the Huddle think if you say anything negative about Allen you're an allen hater or Cam nut hugger or whatever is trendy, and another group thinks if you are at all happy with Allen you're a racist or a Cam hater...

Some of us can like both players, want both to do well, and be okay with pointing out limitations a player has while being excited by what they are doing...

Literally no one anymore(edit: anymore... that narrative was bullshit and I am glad it disappeared) says Cam cant read a defense.  One of the big knocks on Cam has always been he is slightly inaccurate on the high end.  The stats actually do back that up. He consistently had more overthrows than other QBs when stats sites do those breakdowns.

He is still fuging amazing and a generational talent we are lucky to have.  But reality is, he wasn't the most accurate and had a propensity to miss high... But hee was def. Accurate enough to be mvp, so that tells you all you need to know about his accuracy in aggregate imo.

woah. Don't put words in my mouth. I never said Cam can't read a defense. I said a very specific thing, Cam has had below average accuracy for a franchise qb. Please don't tell me you're disputing this, the guy is an amazing athlete and has a world class arm, but the most significant weakness in his game has always been his accuracy and lack of touch. C'mon dude, acknowledging a weakness doesn't mean you think the guy is a bum, and pointing out one doesn't make me a hater. Please dial it back a notch and don't assign things to me I didn't say.

On average did 89/Ginn (the 3 seasons they were together) put up more yardage than Moore and Samuel are on pace to put up this season?

Ginn averaged I think 600 something yards the 3 years Cam was throwing to him and 89 a little over 1000.

    • Thielen, Chark, Hurst, Miles, and then Dionte as the answers to a pitiful group of offensive skill players horrifically backfired.  I want to see that 4.3 speed Thomkins playing over David Moore
    • And btw, you have to remember that T-Mac is doing all this with pretty poor QB play this year, on a team that's a mess with no other quality offensive weapons to take attention away from him.   Yet he's still 3rd in the nation in receiving yards with defenses knowing he's our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd option on every passing play.  He still gets open at all 3 levels and when he can't get open because of the double and triple coverage, he consistently makes crazy contested catches that those 6' WRs that are a little more explosive and fast, just can't make. If he was on one of those elite college teams, with a great QB and multiple elite WR and RB options to take attention and give T-Mac single coverage on every play, he'd be putting up bonkers video game like numbers. He's the straight up full package, if we don't end up with him, 5 years from now everyone here is going to look back and say, "yep, he was right about this guy"
    • btw, mingo supposed to play tonight.  we want Cowboys to lose for more than one reason, but they are imploding and their 4th round pick is ours. Rams started rough this year, we have their second rounder, and for a while it a in the top 10 picks.  they are going the opposite direction of the Cowboys.  I do think they have Kansas City after us, so that will help
