Kyle Allen can’t become a franchise QB? Think again..

So what you are saying is rookie season stats do not define long term potential?  I thought so as well.   Someone can improve their shortcomings, or lose interest in football and become full time party animal.  Allen cleaned up his fumbling and I am leaning toward him being in the former category.

Kyle Allen just seems to have that "it" factor, something no amount of physical talent or collegiate accolades could manifest.

The confidence level is uncanny. He can literally make 10 horrible throws in a row and follow that with 10 straight jaw dropping dimes.

That's what separates him from most 1st round picks that have fizzled out. As long as he can maintain that mental edge, he'll be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

Those throws seem to always be on point but the WRs seem to always drop them or not fight for them. I will say his deep balls have more touch and are at least closer to the WR than Cam’s were, Cam’s would sail way past the WR

Fact is Cam or Allen you don't have much time in the pocket and that effects down field passes. Maybe if they all come together and the middle actually makes a pocket we will see more down field accuracy.

Your totally right. No one is saying he's perfect but he has that rare short memory that allows him to keep going.

until he actually hits a receiver in stride over 40 yards through the air this conversation is pointless

how about 50 yards downfield in stride? or is that not an NFL throw?

3 3:55 1 10 CAR 47 Kyle Allen pass complete deep middle to Curtis Samuel for 53 yards, touchdown

the reality is that QBs RARELY need to hit receivers in stride 40 yards down the field.  but they do need to hit passes >20 yards more consistently than Allen currently is doing.

As does his WRs need to actually catch the ball. Or should I post Curtis Samuel drops. Not to mention how many Wright has dropped.

The most hilarious part of all this is the Kyle Haters are taking the same approach as the Cam haters. Aka he can't throw down field and is inaccurate mid range. While totally ignoring a poor line and WR play. Those guys actually matter too.

Allen is missing Samuel (deep) more than Samuel is dropping balls.

That's totally inaccurate. Not to mention his last throw he didn't load up so he didn't over throw him. I will wait because he will work on it and you can move on to bitching about something else.

    • Well unfortunately nothing to us. But he has been giving to the rest of the league. He's been so bad he was getting opposing defenders all kinds of accolades and salary increases. Now though he's taking back. You can't lose to a Bryce Young led offense and not expect swift ramifications ya know?
    • Full disclosure I responded to this before fully reading the whole post. As if I had, I’d have laughed at you saying you haven’t seen a full route tree from him, as that’s EXACTLY what he has in his bag.  That right there just shows you haven’t watched him at all outside of the downfield highlight reel plays.  He already runs a full NFL level route tree, at all 3 levels.  As I’ve said numerous times before, XL is the big bodied possession guy, while T-Mac would be the true outside #1 who can do it all and a perfect compliment to XL.   Want to draft someone else all you want, that’s totally fair.  But don’t try and say he’s just a big bodied WR who lacks quickness and can’t run a full route tree, as it’s just the furthest thing from the truth.     And it’s okay, after you watch some more clips, you can admit that you were wrong and I’m not showing my own bias towards him.  It’s not like I’m advocating for someone who should be a late 1st rounder or even a mid 1st round pick, this is someone who’s been mocked as high as #2 by a lot of experts lately. The kid is a stud and he has every tool in his bag that you’d want an outside #1 to have.
    • My perfect offseason at QB would be trade Bryce, sign Lock (experience with Canales) and draft Ewers in the second or late in the first
