CMC Projected Stats

I'd stay away from "projected" stats especially considering who our opponents are in the home stretch of the season.

I can say though he's off to a blistering start. Should be good for well over 1000 rushing yards at least, who knows with the receiving. Especially if Samuel and DJ keep stepping up.

Don’t ruin my fun jk

Yeah can’t just blanketly assume he’ll be doubling his stats but it’s just an incredible season so far.

Yeah too bad it's a QB award.  Watson gonna get it.

Pretty much. I'm not even sure how Adrian Peterson won in in 2012.

It was a different league when Faulk won it in the early 2000s and Ladanian Tomlinson won his in 2006 by obliterating the rushing TD single season record among other things.

But with our QB being hurt CMC has carried this team and kept us playoff contenders. That has to be considered

He is without a doubt our MVP, but the league?  Watson already has the stats CMC is projected to have at the end of the year.  It's not fair to RBs, but it is what it is.  I do think he has a shot at OPOY

Take out the Tampa games and have a look... They seemed to have a unique answer for him that I’m not sure other teams will have.

I just looked at this. Let’s say Tampa is an outlier (obviously taking out his worst two games skews the stats but the only common factor in his poor games is Tampa Bay). He’s gone up against other elite DLs in the Rams, Jags, and Niners and still produced in those games, so it’s not tough defenses, just something about Tampa.

Games vs Tampa:

2 games: 38 att, 68 rush yards, 1 rush TD, 6 catches, 42 rec yards, 1 rec TD

55 scrimmage yards per game, 1 TD per game

All other games:

6 games: 127 att, 813 rush yards, 9 rush TD, 36 catches, 321 rec yards, 2 rec TD

189 scrimmage yards per game, 1.83 TDs per game

So let’s just assume Tampa is an outlier and see how McC would perform if his averages against non-Tampa teams hold up for the rest of the year and not just his total averages (he’s this is unlikely to be exact but it’s possible)

That would be 1512 scrimmage yards and 15 TDs over the second half of the year, which would give him 2756 scrimmage yards and 28 TDs on the season, easily the greatest season from a RB ever.

    • Nah I love Thielen and he's a more than valuable player, but I think we have that role covered a bit with XL (in terms of the going across the middle) and if we were to draft T-Mac, he also thrives on crossing routes and absorbing hits while making crazy grabs. I'd rather have a peak Curtis Samuel type of slot WR over a Thielen, especially with XL and Coker already on the roster who are more in the Thielen mold from the slot than a Samuel, even if they aren't exactly Thielen of course.
    • Call me crazy but I'd like a Bersin type guy in later rounds that can learn under AT the tricks about how to get open. Bersin wasn't flashy or fast, but he caught every damn thing thrown at him. Someone who's willing to go across the middle and take those hits and actually hang on to the damn ball is something I think we've been sorely missing for a while.
    • I'm not going to try and go find old posts from months and months ago, but yes, you called me crazy for saying T-Mac over Hunter as a WR on numerous occasions. and yes, you are a Madden fanboy (and I don't mean the game, just in how you view potential roster management moves, you view them as if it's Madden where you can manipulate things to get whatever you want done). Again, that you don't see this stuff is an indictment on you, not me.
