I wonder how we started 0-2 if Kyle Allen has zero talent and it’s all CMC. Ever think the reason we can’t throw a deep ball is that teams are having to cover it and can’t double cover CMC anymore? When you have a talent like him, you need a QB like Allen who can make the throws to get the defense off him. Cam couldn’t make a throw to score a 60 yard TD, so the defense was honing in on CMC and dating Cam to beat them with his arm.

Allen hasnt been hitting on those throws either  based off the numbers so clearly that has nothing to do with the success.

Make no mistake, the decision on Cam this year and moving forward is being made by Tepper.

Question for the contract experts, if the Panthers move on from Cam after this season or next, is there a way for them to trade Cam and get some value for him?  There are a couple stud QBs coming out of college in the next two years.

Not trying it to Rivera or Allen at all.

I'm basing it strictly on Newton's age, health and cap hit.

I don't believe it's as guaranteed as you think, especially not if he doesn't return this year.

I'd also point out that while Deion is being kind of bombastic here, she's not the only person making that sort of speculation. Joe Person, among others, has been questioning Newton's future for a while now.

Well nothing is ever set in stone, and a lot is dependent on his health and desire.  I have just seen some comment that Cam's future and Rivera's are linked.  I don't think they are.

I also question Newton's future, but unless something unexpected happens (Chicago offers two first or Cam decides to hang it up , or Allen starts averaging 400 yards and 40 points a game, etc...), I think he will be back next year.  After that, who knows.

It's possible, but a lot of people (including both national and local analysts) aren't so sure.

If I had a dollar for everytime the national media has been wrong about us, I could have a lot of fun in a strip club.

The local media might be a little more knowledgable, but I get the impression it is just speculation on their part, and not based on legitimate inside infromation.

One way or the other, we should know within 4-5 months.

Kyle Allen guarantees no such thing and you can’t say that he does without asserting something no one knows yet, which is how he will develop as a qb.

It is entirely possible to support Allen without being against Cam or racist.  It’s called being a fan of the team rather than just a particular player. Please stop feeding into this overly simplified narrative that has led to a largely pointless debate here for over a month.

Just want what’s best for our team sir, the glee with which some folks turned on our only mvp qb after 9 games is honestly shocking to me, I can’t see why really and I’d like to think it’s not what it looks like sometimes,  I like the Allen kid, but again I feel like if the goal is to get better we need a superstar back there......if possible. Do you deny there is a segment of our fan base that has is out for cam? How we got rid of Steve Smith, Thomas Davis, josh Norman, are we not at risk of growing a reputation as a franchise of who doesn’t take care of its players? We have new ownership and all that yes. I just think people are seeing Allen as the answer and while he’s good I don’t see that
