Message boards weren't a big thing then, but I wonder if Jake Delhomme caught this much flack in the 03 season?    Especially after we hit the stretch in the midseason where we lost a few, and didn't look good doing it?

Just fyi, message boards have been a big part of the internet even since before what most people think of as the internet ie the web, really existed. Usenet was a thing way back when. But yeah, Delhomme took plenty of flak back in the day for overthrowing his targets, throwing more than his fair share of INT's, and a lot of folks claim he tended to just throw it in Steve Smith's general direction a lot and expect Smitty to outfight the other guy for it. On the one hand, I have heard worse ideas, on the other, I think a lot of this type of criticism of Jake was warranted, and I liked Jake.

Also the non panther fans in Charlotte had plenty of ammunition when it came to Jake's play.  It was a lot harder to defend him than Cam.  Most people who bashed Cam were just idiots, Jake Bashers were more educated about football.  At least in my situation.

Also true.

I usually just told those people to shut up and make me some sweet tea.

Cause they couldn't.

We both know why.

One thing I actually found kinda funny regarding Delhomme, a lot of what caused people to b-tch about him was attributable to the fact that he was a gunslinger.

People were always talking about wanting to get a franchise quarterback, but that wasn't going to happen under John Fox because he didn't believe in franchise quarterbacks.

But then along comes Rivera, and at long last we used our top pick in the draft to take a franchise quarterback...

... who was a gunslinger :)

Jake turned the ball over at a prodigious clip....in his first 2 seasons (32 games adjusted) he has 60 combined INT's & FMB's...

...by comparison Cam has 44.

QB7 is spot on Cam's pace of 44.

NOTE:  Pro-Football-Reference counts QB7 for 6 fumbles, even though only 4 of those resulted in a turnover.  I don't know how many or Cam of Jake's fumbles resulted in an actual turnover.

Cam has 20 of 52 fumbles lost, Jake 30 of 62

O we talking first 2 seasons

Cam 5 lost Jake 11 lost

I only saw the phone call.

Gotta give Allen kudos for not saying anything controversial there.

Did you see the end of his press conference?  His response there was even better imo.  He is used to this topic by now I think.

Yeah he said Cam is gone after this season. Deion was a great player, not so much an analyst

To be fair, it's possible, and for reasons that don't really have anything to do with Kyle Allen.

I'd stop short of actually predicting it, but yeah, it could happen.
