Message boards weren't a big thing then, but I wonder if Jake Delhomme caught this much flack in the 03 season?    Especially after we hit the stretch in the midseason where we lost a few, and didn't look good doing it?

This message board was around back then as were some others, and I can tell you the answer is yes. There were people pushing for Chris Weinke through that entire season.

Hell, there were some people who made it an annual thing to push for us to move on from Delhomme and get somebody else.

Kyle Allen completed 17-of-32 passes for 232 yards, two touchdowns an an interception in the Panthers' 30-20, Week 9 win over the Titans.

It was a much better day than Allen had against the 49ers' conference-best defense in Week 8, though he was lucky to escape with only one turnover. Moments after Jarius Wright tipped an inaccurate pass into the air for a pick, Allen threw the ball right to Malcolm Butler. He dropped it. Neither terribly accurate nor explosive down the field, Allen is the purest of game managers. He gets the Packers' hot-and-cold defense for Week 10.

I give Kyle Allen plenty of credit for what he's done, but we're not really into the teeth of our schedule yet.

I'm still not convinced we're a good enough team to beat the conference leaders, and that's not just because of Kyle Allen.

Exactly, he is a young QB that i hope grows quickly over the next few weeks and its not just him tbh we have a fairly young team. The other big thing is injuries ect...., i cant wait to see the snap count, obviousely addison didnt play but i didnt see much of Irvin or Miller. We need that depth and stanima late in games!

Read through the posts of people pooing all over his play. He’s had one bad game out of 7 he’s started  and it’s obvious there are posters here rooting against him.  You’re the one playing dumb.

Now do Cam Newton.

Maybe it's the other way around, Seahawks and Packers struggling

Meh, I still would rather have Cam, but sadly, he may be done for the year.

Allen will keep us competitive, but in the long run, I don't see him getting us the win in big games. He just doesn't have "it." Green Bay will prove that.

And Kyle Allen is 11 TDs - 4INTs on his career with a 6-1 W/L record. I'd say, that aint bad.

We would probably be 7-1 with Cam this year if he was 100% healthy also, so id say we are in a REALLY good spot with 1 Franchise Qb and 1 good QB with alot of upside and started with a high base for as young as he is!
