What is Kyle Allen’s ceiling?

this is probably a more realistic comp than my use of pennington

2008 Pennington was damn near mvp worthy. If Allen’s ceiling is anywhere close the Panthers should consider themselves blessed

i answered the question in terms of “what is the best possible outcome you could see for allen that wouldn’t absolutely floor you?” and to me that’s pennington. i assume that’s how other people view a player’s “ceiling”

yeah he could be a one in a million case of udfa who weirdly evolves exponentially for years into an elite player but that would floor me.

Sports generally “floor” a lot of people... Kind of the nature of it. I don’t expect Allen to be a long term franchise QB, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he became one. Nothing really surprises me in sports any more.

I want Cam back and healthy.

Aside from that, Allen has performed admirably in his absence...  but, I think his ceiling is a slightly better Matt Moore.  He reminds me a lot of Moore.  Solid starter, capable if winning, capable of making some really nice throws, but is more suited to manage a game than carry a team to victory.

Nick foles can hit the deep ball like nobody’s business. Allen yet again just missed another. That’s 4 or 5 today where our receivers got behind the defense. If he hits half of those a game I think we’d actually have a chance at the playoffs. Pennington is honestly the better comparison to me.

What is Kyle Allen’s ceiling? It appears to me has improved each week on his bad tendencies. Obviously last week he saw things he hadn’t before.

Cant really be sure but from what im seeing pretty high. He learns every game and has easily put up his most complete against the Titans but even today you will have people telling you how awful hes played.
