The Kyle Bashing Needs To Stop

To say Cam hasn’t improved just isn’t the truth. Or else he’d still be in a boot. He was throwing doing five step drops on the field before last game. He wasn’t doing that a few weeks ago.

Alright, let me be more clear as I see I wasn't originally.

Cam HAS improved, physically, from his injury. I think he can probably more comfortably walk and maybe even run on it a bit with little to no pain, at least for a short while and it may get worse the longer he is up and moving. I don't think he is improving as in, can survive the wear and tear of a game/season.

For instance, my right shoulder. I had a partial labrum tear during college play (played D-III, no big deal, only played the one year and said screw paying 30k+ per year just to play football guaranteed). I improved somewhat quick after I got it confirmed by an MRI and everything. Was told no surgery as it was a slight tear and that I could wrap it and play on it if I wanted. I did, made it worse, got it re-checked, was told that I could get surgery if I wanted or sit out the season, take care of myself and go through rehab and it would heal as it still wasn't a complete tear. I chose this route. Today, my shoulder is "OK" in so much that I can do bench, overhead press, etc. with no discomfort until I get heavy (250 lbs+ has always caused a slight pinch). I have also been in situations where pushing and pulling on another person was required, no pain. FUNCTIONALLY better....but I still feel it sometimes, especially as muscle fatigue starts.

Cam's foot is getting functionally better, no doubt about that. Cam isn't improving in such a way that he and the training staff are confident he is capable of going full speed with no limitations and that is why he went to a specialist and that is what I meant when I said "Cam hasn't been recovering well".

Like most rational posters have been saying, we like Kyle but majority the forum, even long time posters, went full Jason Whitlock when Allen won a couple games.

It was evident he was a game manager, and still needs to develop. There was nothing I saw in the last 6 starts that showed me he is ready to replace cam, if the performance he’s put on so far, even before the 49ers game was enough to woo you, which was/is a valiant effort, than shame on you for having such low standards for what you expect from a qb of our franchise.

I kinda doubt there as many people in that camp as you think.

The vast majority of the fanbase doesn't care who's playing as long as we win.

If you translate that to mean the people want to get rid of Newton, or translate any praise of Allen or questions about Newton to mean the same, you're creating enemies that aren't there.

Really??

There are a lot of unknowns about Kyle Allen. I don’t think he is nearly as bad as many are making him out to be. You have to factor in the totality of circumstances by which he was inserted into the lineup. You have to factor in situational football. The one thing about the fumbles: he came right back every time and put together drives. The game last week was terrible, but they had no shot. He’s a young, relatively inexperienced quarterback. You can’t allow him to play from that far behind. It’s just not a formula for success. Of course Cam is better. That’s not up for dispute.

Again, I’ll ask you guys: what credible source ever said Cam needed to be benched or traded in favor of Kyle? Some guy on Twitter with a truck as his avatar doesn’t count.

The emphasis is on credible.

The last question is objective based.. A few ESPN shows and NFL network shows have pushed CAm out after week 4.

Biggest thing I notice is certain posters that run to defend Allen, all the while would sit back and ignore the crap Cam went through. Would ignore it, and tell those who stood up to those bashers to just ignore the bashers or they’d side with the bashers and call you a cam nut hugger.

These are the so called “reasonable” posters. Some of the same posters who have disappeared and left lol.

I haven’t seen any particular examples of that. Then again, I don’t watch a whole lot of those shows. I’m sure they drew some pretty high level examples of why that should be a possibility, but I’m doubting they gave any type of specific reasoning for it. Other than, you know, wins and losses. It’s a team sport, so that’s a horrible piece of comparative analysis.

It’s all a strategy to drive viewers and clicks. We are in a “pick a side” culture these days.

Exactly.

It amazes me how many people seem to have forgotten that it took years for Cam to be seen as deserving of QB.

Not to mention he had to pass test, after test. "Let's see him do it with his arm. Let's see him come from behind. Let's see him lead a game winning drive. Etc... Etc..."

Kyle has one good game & the same folk hollering "let's see..." with Cam name him everything good but Jesus & they probably didn't do that because they were too dumb to think about it.

I was going to join in on the trolling Kyle fans, but decided not to because it was already covered & most importantly, I feel bad for the kid. He's a good back up at the moment, & I've seen enough flashes of brilliance from him to think he could be a very good starter fairly soon if he doesn't get broken (physically or mentally) behind this wet cardboard line, & seemingly unadaptable coaching staff.

Cam isn’t ready yet, neither is Grier.  About criticism the only person who decides if he has a future is Allen himself.   It’s his job and he costs us nothing.  Let’s consider this an experiment until the end of the season and then we will see if he is going to be a starter going forward.

Usually people that spend time saying that other people are clueless about anything such as football are themselves lacking any experience or knowledge.

In short, often the loudest is the weakest and dumbest.

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.—Bertrand Russell
