It's possible Cam's last game for us will end up being the Tampa Bay game where he looked awful and was booed off the field

Stuff like this is why I hope he goes somewhere else and wins a SB. No support from fans when they KNOW he was hurt to start the season. He's been the ENTIRE offense for a long time. Again how fast we forget. Dude put on a good showing until he got injured against the Steelers but hey, we forget real quick don't we? He can't be a pocket passer but put up damn good passing numbers under Chudzinski, yet we go to dinking and dunking. Every other team can find WRs that get open or put in effort on routes but we seem to be the only team that just can't get the WR position right. It's amazing how the Steelers, whom almost always have a 25 or below pick, finds WRs that work. That's just one example I'm using in this instance to show the ineptitude that is our college scouting team. Why is it this coaching staff can't get a play in on time or adjust the gameplan accordingly like others in the league? I could keep going but jeez let that man live. He deserves a chance to heal because regardless of his "accuracy issues" the guy is the best QB this franchise has seen and probably will see for a long time. How about we get an O-line that works or a LT that is actually serviceable? A RG that doesn't cause penalties at very bad times (Yes, Trai Turner has taken several steps backwards). There are a ton of issues with the offense. QB1 ain't one of them.

Cam is an issue for the offense, and more importantly for the cap, because he’s not on the field.

Here we go again with the Cam fanboys. Find weapons, fix the coaching, fix the oline...wait for cam to heal even if it takes 3 seasons, look at all these things he did 5 years ago and pay him for it...It’s hard not to forget things that happened YEARS ago.

the oline ranked 13th in the nfl by the way...

you know some of us are thinking of the Panthers long term not Cam long term.

Let him heal and try and heal and try him out next year fine, but don’t touch his contract until 2021 and for Christ’s sake drop the excuses. What QB wouldn’t succeed with great coaching a great oline and great receivers. It doesn’t work that way.

If you booed shame on you. Have some damn class.

Wait, should we or shouldn’t we boo a sh*tty product on the field? I haven’t booed before because I’ve been lucky enough to go to home games where our record is good and we play well that game (actually haven’t been to a loss at home, only on the road), and go to way more away games since I don’t live in the area. But if the whole damn team is sucking why not boo them? Get the ownership to notice and make some damn changes. Steelers QB Mason Rudolph had a good response to fans booing their offense the other night. Turned it around and won the game and said to the media: “I would’ve booed me too” since their O was terrible early on in that game against the worst team in the league...

Settle down.  Without a CBA in place beyond 2020 I dont think they are going to touch his contract anyways.

Cap savings alone is a good reason to cut him.  Cam probably come back for a few more years after resting but honestly the Panthers dont have that option. His contract expires at the end of the  2020 season and right now you would be a fool to extend him. You could rest him the rest of the year. But honestly he need surgery and if he gets it now he will be out the 2020 season.

Cam isn’t done by a long shot. Either he’s here or somewhere else that actually appreciates him being there.

as far as quarterbacks or football players in general taking their last snap, very few players get to ride off into the sunset looking 100% like their younger selves. It’s usually ugly.

Kevin Greene comes to mind as one of the few that walked away looking great and healthy. Good for him.

most look like a bag of ass or get injured badly and it’s over.

a nagging foot isn’t doing Cam in.

Cam may not be done but say he needs surgery and also needs 2020 season off. Are you willing, after almost 3 seasons of zero healthy football from Cam, to pay Can more money than any other team will offer him to stay and hope he is back to 100%? And not only that. All the while basically freezing the Panthers progression as a team? And not only that. Freezing that team with Rivera still the head coach or even worse...a new staff?

It’s not about appreciation, you shouldn’t take a grown man’s athlete career personally. It’s about business. It’s a lot more complicated than do you think he’ll heal and play 100% again. It’s do you bet years of progression of the franchise on it after essentially losing two already?
