CBS sports reporting on Cam's injury

Their insider, Jason LaCanfora, was actually saying this weeks ago.

LaCanfora is generally kind of hit or miss, but in this case it sadly looks like he's "hit".

JLC has gone from absolute garbage to pretty damn reliable over the last year. Quite strange to see that honestly.

As many have said, without Cam the team (coaching included) is good enough to beat bad teams and some teams on par, but get slaughtered by good teams. It is possible to win with a great defense and serviceable QB play, but when that happens you can usually point to the coaching being the difference. We don’t have coaching that makes up for flaws. We have coaching that ignores flaws.

The reason I put so much effort into evaluating Kyle Allen was my skepticism that Cam would be able to play a full season. That was based largely on the shoulder, because there was a lot of unknown surrounding that. That appeared to be a non-issue at camp. When the foot happened, I pretty much told myself he could miss the whole season with this thing. My best case outlook was a modified (and limited) version of the offense. Los Angeles game showed me the blueprint for what they had wanted to do with him. He wasn’t comfortable, and that’s probably more of a physical discomfort than a mental one.

Kyle gives you a better opportunity to win. I know folks will disagree with that, but I don’t think a lot of people truly understand how much Will struggled at camp. At least that was my perspective in watching the practices. Kyle had a better command of the offense. Of course, there’s a wide gap between Newton and everybody else, but I thought Kyle was the next best thing they had for the moment. I don’t feel any differently at this point.

And I don’t think you start playing for the future before you’re certain this season is totally lost. And if you’re cheering for the team to lose so Rivera will get fired, well, that’s probably not a good starting point for a rational discussion.

I don’t claim to know anything other than what I’ve seen. I don’t think I’ve seen quite enough to say that the season is either over or the season is in the shitter. And I’m sorry, I’d much rather see the team aim to get a wildcard spot and have a fighting chance than play the tanking game.

I’m probably just a overly-competitive fool. I like wins. I don’t care when they come. I don’t care how they come. I really don’t care who gets the credit.

How good does that 4-1 really look after the Cardinals managed to keep it close with the 49ers while we got drubbed in all phases?

And we crushed the Cardinals...? It’s one fuging game, look at some of the blowouts the Pats have endured in recent years during their SB winning seasons.

What did he say, I missed this? (Not saying you’re lying, I just want to read how he worded it)

According to CBS sports, the foot injury is not improving and he will be out indefinitely. They claim that is why he is going to the foot specialist. I know there is a post already about the injury, but this may up the ante on what the Panthers do. Opinions: who starts the next 8 games if it is as serious as CBS is reporting.

The season is over if this is true....so Grier after the Titans or Allen.. regardless of it's a win or loss?

I think we ride with Allen until we're officially eliminated from playoff contention. After that, anything goes. i can see the team wanting to see what they have in Grier at that point especially with the uncertainty of Cam's health leaving his NFL career in the balance.
